.... I'm here in DC and I'd like to see a downtown McDonalds that catered to tourists with some of the McDonalds treats from around the world (like those Chili Cheese Tops). Kind of like the Coke place at Disney World with flavors from around the world. Thanks to all for their contributions. I love this thread! |
The McFlurry cups in Calgary just got smaller.. their large is now pintsized..
Another unfortunate enhancement.:( |
I stopped into a McDonalds in Vienna earlier this month and they had some fun stuff on the menu. Fried shrimp, waffle fries (extra), a "Surf and Turf" burger which was topped with shrimp (priced around 9 Euro) and several other high end burgers. I stuck with my standard Big Mac Meal.
|
I was in the airport in Vienna last week and noticed the surf and turf but wasn't feeling brave enough for fast food shrimp right before a flight...

I am not posting for the food standing out at this particular McDonalds however it stood out for the structure itself.
While traveling, I love to check out McDonalds to see the different items available around the world. I was looking for things to do while traveling through New England and came across a really interesting McDonalds. This McDonalds is located in Fall River, MA and has a real train car attached to it. It is used as a dining room and has what looks like diner-style booths but when I visited it was closed for renovations. We didn't stop there to eat so we worked it in as a potty break! I have a picture of it on my blog which is listed in my signature. |

I know we discussed it in the HI forum, but the deep fried apple pies in Hawaii are great too ^ :D
And last week (January 2012) I saw an ad for the Taro Pie also while visiting KOA - not quite as sweet as the Haupia, but definitely unique and nice to try. Had chunks of taro in it. They both seem to be seasonal rotations |

Have you tried the local breakfast platter - Spam (or Portuguese sausage), scrambled eggs and rice? One of the best deals in the islands. :)
I miss the TeriBurger...:( |

Our local one in Eagle River, Alaska used to have a caboose near the drive-thru for a couple decades. I think it was removed with the last remodel (added a playplace and other various updates) Not for normal dining, but was utilized for birthday parties and the like. Not sure if I had one there, but have memories of being in it at least once.
