The local specialty in Chile is the McPalta, which is a burger topped with mashed avocado. Although the Hellman's ad slogan there, "Mayo Con Todo!" has always seemed to me to be the Chilean national motto, you can pretty easily and cheaply get avocado on anything there too. Quite a treat for this Midwesterner who never saw one of those fancy California things growing up.

Then there's the McLobster, the McDonalds lobster roll, in Maine and the Canadian Maritimes.

Had a happy meal in Rome (Hamburger). Burger was standard, and came withthe typical fries, drink and toy. BUT had the addition of a kiwi on a popsicle stick. It was suprisingly fresh and decent tasting.

So they replaced Loco Moco in Hawaii with spam, eggs, and a side of white rice?

I'm a little late to the game, but I'm still hankering for the Salmon McNuggets I tried in Moscow 5 years ago. They came with a little container of dill dipping sauce. ^
The Hong Kong rice burger is not nearly as good as it looks. The rice isn't really toasted to a crisp. It's more like browned rice mashed together into a really dense patty. I should have gone for the peking duck sandwich in Beijing instead.

ETA: I still have a picture of one that we used in the slide presentation and it was the standard version Loco Moco; however, I have seen it referenced as a sandwich as well. Last mentioned in September 2010 in comments posted to this blog: http://cook-eat-love.com/2010/09/foo...ale-loco-moco/

Here in Canada.. unfortunately lagging a bit behind the times.. you can finally get the 1/3 pounder mushroom swiss melt.. and their McCafe products finally showed up.
For awhile, some McD's had different dessert choices such as sugar cone, apple pie ala mode.. but I don't see it anymore..
