I've gotten a few bottles when traveling in BE back and forth from LGW.

Once, during take off this year I caught a bottle that was scooting across the floor from my seat in row 2. The FA appreciated my catch and let me keep it.

I have been comped four or five bottles of wine over the past few years. One time that really stands out was last October when my wife and I were going to Phoenix (weekend of our anniversary). She wanted a drink on the flight from MSY to DFW but does not like Bloody Mary's. As this is a short domestic hop, I did not think they would have champagne.
When we boarded the flight, I asked the FA if my wife could have a mimosa, as I suspected, no champagne--so I gave her bottle I had brought with me (anticipating this situation). My wife had her mimosa and I told the FA that once we were wheels up, the champagne may be served to anyone else in FC who asked.
Well, the flight to DFW was bumpy and beverage service never occurred. The entire bottle (less one drink) was poured out prior to landing and the FA gave us a bottle of sauvignon blanc as a conciliatory gesture.
If anyone is interested, bringing liquor on a plane for consumption is permitted under certain situations, but the bottle must be under the control of the FA during the flight. Section 3.46 of the FAA Flight Attendant's Handbook (red book-every FA has one) permits the FA to serve liquor brought onboard by a pax for special occasions (including anniversary) or if purchased in a duty-free store. (I got this infomation from the FA on my regular Monday morning flight. As mentioned in an earlier post, Delta FAs are wonderful--one of the main reasons I will resist flying another airline.)

My brother-in-law is a United 1K, and based on his stories UA does this regularly (my sister got one to and from ODR-LAX last month).
I've only had one "event" on Delta, BE from ATL-GUA and I remarked to the FA how impressed I was that they were serving Merryvale's Hillside Cab. 30 minutes prior to landing, he handed me a bottle wrapped in a gray plastic bag.

It happen to us on Delta once too many years ago when we were on the way to our wedding (and that was obvious because the flight attendants had to help stow my (now) wife's long carry-on wedding dress/veil).

I haven't received any wine but on 12/27/01 my wife and I were flying CVG-BDL on award tickets in F. I ordered an Amaretto during pre-flight. The FA brought a double and then showed up with a refill (a single) shortly before pushback. I normally limit myself and hadn't ask for the refill. My wife took it so that it would not go to waste. During the flight we ordered juice and soda. The FA had noticed our taste for Amaretto and brought us four of the mini-bottles before landing. We enjoyed those a couple of nights later.

Given what Delta's been placing on planes domestically in the last few months, maybe they're trying to turn over the inventory?

A few year ago I was flying from BKK to TPE in Business. I received three bottles of champage, and then from TPE to PDX to received another three. Very nice of DL, but 6 bottles are a lot to carry!

Was gifted yesterday. Passenger next to me in first had multiple health/medical problems and was really demanding of the FA in terms of wanting this and wanting that right now, regardless of push-back, active runway status, etc. (I don't think the passenger had flown very much). FA was just wonderful in terms of responding to the passenger's requests while trying to take care of the entire cabin. I helped with some of the passenger's requests, and while the "Problem" was in the head, FA brought me a bottle of wine as a thank you for my help. Felt like someone should have given the FA a bouquet of roses--I did write Delta to compliment her on her service and patience. It was truly the kind of service that keeps us loyal to Delta, regardless of SGB. So I've got a bottle of red; hope the FA got some recognition from Delta.

Once from DFW-SJC on AA a week or so after the 11th. I was on a light flight and had a good 20 min conversation with the FA, her family was good friends with on of the affected pilots. She was so kind and sweet. Prior to landing she asked me which kind of wine red white or champange do I preffer. She presented me with a great bottel of Chilean red and suggested I share it with my friend in front of a warm fire.
I still get teary just thinking about Sue and the warm feelings that were shared.

I don't drink, so I mostly ignored this thread. Today, however, the OBL on my flight gifted me with a sleeve of Biscoffs after I asked whether they were being phased out. As a bonus, he said that they were no longer on the chopping block, although almonds are apparently gone forever.
