P Class: The Definitive Thread

I will be flying from SFO-DTW on P class (discounted premium class). Will I earn 100% gold medallion bonus?

UpgradeMe Apr 6, 2005 4:54 pm

The status-based bonus does not depend on fare class.

sxchan Apr 7, 2005 11:05 pm

what does it mean?

so are you saying that status bonus based on status?

platbrownguy Apr 7, 2005 11:29 pm

Yes, your status bonus is based on status, and the cabin bonus is based on cabin.

In your case, you'll get a 100% bonus for being a Gold Medallion and a 50% bonus for buying a First Class fare.

If your flight is 1000 miles, you'll get 1000 + 1000 + 500, for a total of 2500 miles. I assume English is not your first language, or else I would have been much less subtle ;).

Since I primarily fly DL I am familiar with what fare classes earn which percentage miles/mqms. However, recently I have flown com trips on CO and have no idea which fare classes on CO earn which percentage miles/mqms.

Is there a list somewhere that will tell me CO FARE CLASS (X) = 100%miles/50%mqms, etc. and the same with NW? Thanks. MC

Off topic but I didn't want to start another thread on this.

What is P class on Delta? Is there such a class?

What is P class on Delta?

I looked at the sticky threads and didn't see P class. Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks!

Well not really... as I was 13th on the upgrade list last night ATL-MLB, there was a young kid by himself (15, 16 years old maybe) who had a first class seat and his boarding pass had Class P. Maybe my eyes were playing tricks, but I thought I saw Class P.

I think maybe I should make things clear since someone hammered me bad once for the use of Peasant Class. That should referred forthwith as Peasant Class™.

Could he have been young enough to be a UM? Did he have the red and white button on? Just speculation on my part, I have no clue.

No, he wasn't a UM, he wasn't wearing one of those ID's around his neck and wasn't being guarded by a DL employee. Maybe I just read his bp wrong.

First, BusinessElite®, Business P, F, A, C, D, J, I 500 x 1.5 750

Looks like it's a real FC fare but I have no idea how you get one.

Thanks for looking this up Indufan.. ^ . I was wondering if it was an employee type fare and someone's kid was stealing my upgrade.

Isn't P class used to denote purchased First Class fares on Delta Partners that offer 3 classes internationally? In other words, if the UM was travelling paid First Class on AF CDG-ATL-MLB with ATL-MLB being operated by Delta as a codeshare with AF, wouldn't the Delta BP read "P" instead of "F"?
