MSP C SkyClub - Are you kidding me?
When I entered and looked around I said to the lounge dragon, "Is this a 1995 time capsule?" He laughed and responded, "Yeah, about twelve years ago they switched out the 'Northwest' signs for 'Delta' ones and called it a day." It looks crazy dated and doesn't feel particularly "luxurious." Outlets, if you can find them, were non-operational for me. The mens room stall doors have cracks so wide you might as well sell tickets to the Larry Craig Fan Club. Even the public bathrooms at this airport have the nice private closets.
Sure some people probably like the look. I just think it's old.
Are there any plans to upgrade this one?

There's an update towards the bottom of this article, construction is underway and opening spring 2023.

I've always loved this lounge for the workstations and also the big black leather chairs (edged in beige) in front of the fireplaces. Unfortunately the furniture is being gradually replaced, so there are fewer pieces of the old classic stuff. It also has changing rooms, which is the closest MSP has to showers, with no changing rooms in the F/G SC, although the handicapped stall in the lavatory can be used for this purpose.
The old F/G WorldClub wasn't as nice, although it did have lots of workstations back then. I hate the way DL redid it in chrome, white plastic, and blue. The furniture hasn't worn well either. The white plastic shelves in the bar area and down below aren't at all a good substitute for the work stations. To add insult to injury, DL removed the quiet area designation from the small seating area near where the second entrance once was.
BTW, the SCs at both far ends of the overhead red train line at DTW have the old NW decor as in MSP C. These were the last lounges that PMNW renovated before the merger.

C club always had a warm, northern cozy feel to me.

There are a lot of SkyClubs I haven't been to, where are the 'particularly "luxurious"' ones I'm missing out on?

I haven't been to the new one in DTW yet (that is an airport I get to fairly often) and haven't been to those other airports SkyClubs either. Hopefully the new one here in my hometown will be good too and supposedly was going to have a SkyDeck (though I am concerned that got axed based on recent footage I've seen of the terminal construction progress). I can't wait to experience these 'luxurious' SkyClubs instead of the ones I usually go to, the new and renovated ones I've been to are fine for what they are, but aren't much more than a bunch of chairs and plugs along with the food and beverage offering, not what I would consider 'luxurious'.

I haven't been to very many skyclubs compared to most here, but Seattle is probably one of the nicest I've seen. Maybe it's just one of the larger. But it's been a few years since we were there (2018 or 2019?)
