In D1 on an ATL>AMS flight. After boarding had completed and announcements began, the lead FA made the statement that pax in Y we’re not permitted to use the D1 lavs to “preserve the integrity of the Delta One Cabin.”
While we were in D1 I couldn’t help but cringe a little at what seemed like such an overt elitist statement.

But otherwise if this made you cringe imagine what we do at your posts.

It was some time ago, but 1) it was a BMW and 2) it was in a thread another FT’er had started about buying a new BMW with their Amex card and wanted to know if anyone had done it and they were looking for info on how to go about it.
While im no stranger to bragging, mostly in jest, I think you’re misrepresenting this particular instance — especially when I’ve provided so many better examples to choose from.

I am Diamond, and when I buy a Y ticket, I use the Y lav.
If I want to use the D1/F lav, I just need to paid the "extra for the class.
The peoples how paid for D1/F, paid for an upscale experience or comfort, all this + (better seat, board before Y, less pax/lav, ...) are part of the this.
You get what you paid for (this can be by you, by upgrade or any other way).
If is your corporation who paid for this, it is part of your "jobs" advantage. Just negotiate with your boss if he think you "value" this.
If you are not happy with your corporate "rules", just find another jobs who will paid for your D1/F class.

Huh? What's wrong with sharing about buying a car on a CC to maximize MQMs? And how is that the same as an FA making an announcement that could be seriously off-putting to coach pax?

When you have to go, you have to go. The ratio of toilets per passenger reducing is caused by the airlines so they can reap the benefits of their actions. I always used to respect it but I don't any longer and really am not interested in any FA trying to stop me. And when I am flying at the pointy end and people come up to use it I don't blame them in the slightest.

Tough crowd in this thread.
I don't mind people using the front lav if a cart is blocking the aisle. But I have paid for Delta One out of my own pocket, so it would be nice if use of the lav is limited to people up front. But if someone is really desperate, let them use it.

On a Hawaiian flight from JFK-HNL I was in Row 11 right behind first and during the whole flight a first class passenger kept coming back to use the economy bathroom. He was the only one so I doubt the lav in first was out of order. No one said anything but you can be sure if I tried using the lav in first I’d been escorted right back to my seat.

It is not just the lav count that is an issue on this plane. It is the long single aisle. Cart service can take a long time. and that blocks the lavs for those in the front of Y. And then when the aisle is not blocked, one can be 5th in line by the time they walk all the way back.
This layout is a joke, and I will go ahead and use the F lavs if I need to go and can not get back.
DL should see this and allow those in C+ to use the F lavs. Either that or hold onto the empty water bottles.

So to recap so far the following has happened...
- somebody recommended to get adult diapers and pee themselves if they can’t wait.
- if a cart is blocking your access too bad
- F is apparently a “premium experience” and if the forward lav is empty it somehow ruins your experience to watch people going in said lav?
honestly who cares? (Short of 10 people standing in the entire F aisle) whether in Y or F I am usually watching tv or on my laptop. I literally don’t care to police the lavs and get angry over it.
Technically the the captain and first officer are not paying for the “premium experience” of D1 and F should they have to go to the back to use the bathroom or as someone else suggested should they wear diapers?
