Didn't realize that DL had a Kansas City to Santiago, Chile flight

If you're not already rebooked, MCI-MSP-RDU (DL 953/1791) has one seat for sale right now.

ETA: If you do manage to get to ATL (looks like you are estimated to arrive ATL around 7pm) there are seats for sale on all three ATL-RDU flights after 7pm as of right now.

ETA2: But considering "Due to WEATHER / THUNDERSTORMS, departure traffic destined to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, GA (ATL) is currently experiencing delays averaging 2 hours and 46 minutes." that 7pm estimate is in serious jeopardy.

Where are you seeing MCI-MSP-RDU as an option? Searching DL right now, all I see are just two possible bookings, both via ATL. Everything else seems to be sold out.

And I was told that since this is all due to weather, booking on UA won't be possible.

Just be aware there's a big patch of storms (some severe) and heavy wind about to slam us (I'm in the RTP about 10 minutes from RDU right now) so I anticipate RDU is about to get shut down or at least slow down significantly for a couple of hours.

A wind advisory just went out for the whole area.

Yep. I already told everyone at home I might not arrive until tomorrow. We'll see.

Saw it on EF, but it's gone now. May be worth keeping an eye in case another seat opens up (inventory can be fluid during IRROPS)

Flew out of RDU at lunch today. Everything was booked and they were offering VDB's at almost every gate. For once the weather forecast saved my bacon and I flew through DTW.

Could have scored a VDB but flying with my 85 year old dad to his sisters funeral and I just don't think he could have played the game well.

Once again, a strong thunderstorm is heading toward ATL. A few flights already seem to be holding. This should be interesting... I hope everyone's flight lands safely.

Doesn't seem that patch is going to be around the airport. Hoping not. I want to get on my plane and roll out.

2075 got eventually cancelled due to the crew timing out, so I got me a hotel room for the night.

The crew timed out probably due to weather, so I'm not sure I can blame Delta for this, thus this room will likely be on my dime.

Ah well. There are worse problems to have. Like a 5:40am departure tomorrow.

This was announced in another thread, but beware if you're being rebooked through MSP today: TSA security has apparently closed part of the terminal due to a suspicious bag scare, although there are reports that all gates are accessible. The bag seems to have been left just inside one of the security checkpoints.

If you're at MSP, do not leave the secure area today as there are reportedly very long lines with one checkpoint being totally closed. Sorry smokers.

SOS, people. A friend has been stuck 12 hours at ATL waiting for her flight to Albuquerque, and NOW they've cancelled. She says there are literally 1,000 people in the re-book line, the phone line is busy, and the app isn't working for her. She has no status.

Is she screwed? Anything you'd suggest for her? (She's not a frequent flyer.)
