Thanks! First time to Europe and first time in BE/Delta One, so we were looking forward to a non-stop SLC-LHR instead of stopping in MSP or JFK or PHL.

If the schedule change today moves SLC-Europe from daily to several days a week for the winter months, is there a material likelihood the schedule will change again between now and November?

The cynical might say the odds of a schedule change approach 100%. Generally, the fewer months in advance of travel, the fewer schedule changes occur. But there's simply no way to know for sure. So many things could change between today and next fall which would cause demand for airline travel to go up or to go down. All you can do is keep track of your flights, and quickly react in the event of a change affecting your plans.

As others have said, the route isn't going away rather there was a schedule change and seasonal reduction to less than daily. Once their PNR reflects the change it would be worth calling DL and pushing for VS non-stop. IMO it's also likely the revenue LAX-SLC ticket will have a change of some sort between now and date of travel.

Update
It's Sunday. Reservation is still intact. But trying to make a dummy booking reveals the flight isn't there. So still not sure what the status is!

Time to call - assuming you've decided what you want to ask for.
If the rep says your flight is "still on the schedule", ask the rep to look more closely at the flight to see if availability has been set to zero - indicating cancellation is imminent.
As always, you are expecting a rebooking at zero cost. Any resistance, just politely say "thanks for your help, I want to think about my options some more" and hang up call again (HUCA).

If you look it is only available on M, T, TH, and SA departures. So what day was your departure? Also the schedule change starts in Sept-OCT

Our flights are in November. Currently scheduled to fly to LHR on Sunday 11/12. No change to our reservation yet. When it does, hopefully we can switch to Saturday 11/11.

Looking closer it looks like Delta is NOT going to fly this route on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. Looks like is it daily until the last week of October and then flies everyday except the days listed above

Not unusual for a DL route adjustment. The flight may stay on the schedule with zero availability for a week or two.

Did that. Rep said she saw it was zeroed out, but she can't do anything until the system changes my reservation.

Plus you should be HOPING for a change on the return as well to be able to jump on the one stop CDG/SEA/BOI routing. eliminating the extra stop at no expense.
You've got a long time and several more changes are likely to occur...probably nothing as dramatic, but if you're vigilant you can make it work to your advantage.
