HUCA Fail
As we flyertalkers know, HUCA is a valuable asset in the struggle to get things done with DL.
Just thought that I'd share yesterday I had a simple award ticket reissue that needed to be done. I called. After a few minute discussion, the agent seemed confused and put me on hold. Not to worry. I HUCA about ten minutes later... and I GOT THE SAME AGENT AGAIN! She said, "oh, I was just dealing with you..." Luckily, HUCA worked on the third time like a charm!

If I have a complex issue, I keep calling until I get someone with a Minnesota accent. Works every time.

When I need to call in I tend to do it later in the evening when I would guess call load is lower, so it seems plausible I've spoken with the same agent twice... but it's only happened once that I am certain of, because the agent has a particularly distinctive voice and said up front "this is ___ in ___" identifying which call center they're in. (To be clear, this was across two unrelated calls, not a HUCA)

If the first agent couldn't get it done, why give them a second chance only a few minutes later? I don't think they've learned how to do something/been told it's within the rules within 10 minutes.

Correct. Adding a return segment to an itinerary doesn't have to be done through an international reissue desk. The MSP agent I got on the third try had it done and ticketed in about 40 seconds.

Ya, every time I hear / see that TV commercial for "My Pillow", it sounds exactly like <former MN Gov> Jesse Ventura. . . .

He alwayz says they're made in Minnesota!
Besides . . . . How can you buy a pillow from a TV ad, anyway?!?
Don't'cha hafto feel it to see if you like it?!?

20-30 seconds to answer, you mean?

20-30 seconds to finish their last call and return to the queue for the next call. After ending the call, Res agents may need to write remarks in records or finish making changes after they confirmed them with the customer.
