Agreed. Luckily management is tone deaf, so they will provide whatever is either cheapest or the procurement guy chooses (he knows a guy who knows a guy who is expert in international cuisine). So only thing passengers can do is to complain and have fun.

However, I would characterize the lounge food at CDG's AF lounges as primarily French while that in AMS would be Dutch (lots of cheeses, little cold sandwiches on hearty bread, etc.), although IIRC both offer small bags of potato chips. NRT offers sushi, but now also chicken skewers.
I'm all for the Saag Paneer in Skyclubs. I absolutely love the Thai chicken curry they have.

Of course, the opposite is also true. Food that would cause a "cleaning out" would reduce weight and save fuel. Imagine if everyone shed a pound or two before takeoff. Of course, the fuel savings would have to be balanced against the cost of food and the cost of club restroom supplies and maintenance/cleaning, but this approach does have the potential to increase profits.

That way, management can calculate the precise amount of weight lost and how much in fuel savings was gained by it

I was at T4 late yesterday afternoon. After a flight from SJU in comfort + where there was no snack basket (only peanuts and a dinner roll with a 1/2 slice turkey and processed cheese - not good for a vegetarian), I looked forward to seeing what was offered. There were several things put out over the 2 hours I was there: a spicy chickpea salad, italian-style white bean salad, rice pilaf, a hot white bean and spinach mix, a kale caesar salad (I went around the chicken). Al were pretty tasty and I went to my next flight (4.45 hours in C+) ready to not have anything again (the FAs actually had a basket and passed it around TWICE)...

Spotted it last week at the ATL F SC. No saag paneer observed at the T or E ATL SC's.

Reminds me of a very true story from our Kansas City MO location. At break time one morning I wandered through on my way to the lab and saw one of our Vietnamese American employees and he was eating something "interesting".
I asked " What on earth is that?".
He just looked at me and said: "You have never been hungry have you?"
