Exactly what I would call traditional american fare. It would be welcomed in a Delta SC near me.

The same can be said of those that have a strong aversion to "un-American" food. If it is that important to you to only have what you deem "American food", best to not leave it to chance.

So it's considered bad attitude when a pan of inedible looking Saag Paneer is put out in a SkyClub. GMAB. I like Saag Paneer. I don't like food that looks like the green apple splatters.

As a cloggie, it may be eaten and served by dutch people but i wouldn't call that what is served (Supermarket bread, supermarket cheese, water+bouillon cube=soup, mushroom risotto, Jambalaya, Pene Arrabiata or Nasi with Chicken sat) at AMS 'dutch'

Great to finally see some decent food in the SkyClubs instead of the normal festival'o'mysterie-meat! 😄😄😄

And just what did a vegan ever do to you? nobody is telling you that you can't rip your favorite beast to pieces and feast on the still-warm, bloody haunches.

I'm glad to see that Delta is making the effort! Is it perfect? Probably not, but at least they're trying.

I'd think it more productive to address the problems with the dish like an adult rather than like a particularly picky 5 year old. Were the responses more along the lines of "they clearly didn't cook off enough of the spinach's liquid", as opposed to "it looks like poop!" or "I want American food, dang it!", they might have seen a different response. If you don't want to be accused of having the attitude of an unpleasant child, don't speak like an unpleasant child.

Actually, I was on a KLM segment in J once and DL neglected to send over my VGML request. When I mentioned to the purser that I had "a special", she looked mortified and said "let me see what I can do". She constructed a fantastic J dinner out of bits and pieces of Y meals, J meals and crew meals!

Much more fun to come up with euphemisms for poop.

Exactly. A good purser can be very resourceful and creative in solving catering problems. Hopefully they understand the rules for various special meals and don't you ask you lots of questions about what would be allowed and what not allowed, although of course it's better to ask than assume incorrectly.

In fairness to saag paneer, this is what it could look like:

It's hard to keep it from oxidizing and changing color though, just like a cut apple, especially on a hot plate.

I don't need a vegan meal and it was not DL.

On a LH A380 as service about to start FA came out "one" special meal tray and started searching for the requestor. Walked both aisles in that section looking for someone and finally asked one pax if they requested special meal and gave away the meal. This amusement(locating special meal requestors) continued for a while and finally carts came out for regular service.

The guy in the next row says "Where is my special meal?". My take the first special meal was given away to someone who didn't actually request.

Note to self, Never request special meal, buy at terminal and carry with you.

I can't help but think of this thread as Spinach Gate.

That looks appealing but healthy.

So cheese cubes are missing from SC version of saag paneer.

BTW, we should have seen this coming when Costco started selling paneer and large bags of spinach.
