Exactly what I would call traditional american fare. It would be welcomed in a Delta SC near me.

The same can be said of those that have a strong aversion to "un-American" food. If it is that important to you to only have what you deem "American food", best to not leave it to chance.

So it's considered bad attitude when a pan of inedible looking Saag Paneer is put out in a SkyClub. GMAB. I like Saag Paneer. I don't like food that looks like the green apple splatters.

However, I would characterize the lounge food at CDG's AF lounges as primarily French while that in AMS would be Dutch (lots of cheeses, little cold sandwiches on hearty bread, etc.), although IIRC both offer small bags of potato chips. NRT offers sushi, but now also chicken skewers.

nobody is telling you that you can't rip your favorite beast to pieces and feast on the still-warm, bloody haunches.
I'm glad to see that Delta is making the effort! Is it perfect? Probably not, but at least they're trying.

I'd think it more productive to address the problems with the dish like an adult rather than like a particularly picky 5 year old. Were the responses more along the lines of "they clearly didn't cook off enough of the spinach's liquid", as opposed to "it looks like poop!" or "I want American food, dang it!", they might have seen a different response. If you don't want to be accused of having the attitude of an unpleasant child, don't speak like an unpleasant child.

The way special meal request and delivery is organized, I wouldn't rely on it. There are lot of reports on internet about missing (confirmed) special meals.
When your special vegan meal is MIA, FAs will try to assemble vegan meal with what they have going by the ingredients. Guess what that meal consists of, lettuce and dinner roll.

Actually, I was on a KLM segment in J once and DL neglected to send over my VGML request. When I mentioned to the purser that I had "a special", she looked mortified and said "let me see what I can do". She constructed a fantastic J dinner out of bits and pieces of Y meals, J meals and crew meals!

On a LH A380 as service about to start FA came out "one" special meal tray and started searching for the requestor. Walked both aisles in that section looking for someone and finally asked one pax if they requested special meal and gave away the meal. This amusement(locating special meal requestors) continued for a while and finally carts came out for regular service.
The guy in the next row says "Where is my special meal?". My take the first special meal was given away to someone who didn't actually request.
Note to self, Never request special meal, buy at terminal and carry with you.

I can't help but think of this thread as Spinach Gate.
