27 mins connection in BOS and mileage run question

I just booked a flight from SEA-SLC-BOS-SEA on June 10-11th. Is that possible for me to get on the plane back to SEA since I only have 27 mins between flights?

Also is that possible for my luggage to go with me all the way? I know it is not allowed to have the same departure and destination city, so can I just check my bags to SLC and then re-check them for SLC-BOS-SEA?

Thanks

Since you are unlikely to arrive and depart on the same plane, this is risky. If you're on time and at the front you'll make it, but any delay at all and you'll be hosed.

Why on earth do you want to check a bag on a mileage run?

If the SLC-BOS is on-time and you're near the front of the plane, 27 minutes is enough time. BOS isn't that big. But any delay at all and you'll be hosed.

Agreed that I wouldn't dream of checking bags.

possible, yes ... a wise plan, not so much

that said, based on schedules, the outbound is a redeye and the return is the first flight of the morning, so there are a lot of options for recovery back to SEA; in fact; I'd guess the inbound 738 turns back to LAX (leaving half an hour later, with a connection to SEA) -- only $20 and a couple extra hours for ~1200 additional miles

but again, checking a bag on a MR

What is the legal MCT for Delta Dom to Dom in Boston?
I thought the same thing as well, why would you check luggage on a MR.

I'll go a little against the grain, and say if you're 15 minutes late, you might want to run. Should still work. But I'll go with the grain on checking a bag. Wouldn't do it. BOS doesn't see a lot of connecting traffic, especially on an inbound redeye.

Thanks for your reply.
I have to be at the plane to ANC that afternoon, which means I don't have time to run back home and get my luggage.

Since they ticketed it, I believe the MCT is about 25 mins.
I have to go to ANC that afternoon so I don't have time to run back home and grab my stuff

If you check baggage, you won't make it. Either pack a cary-on or send your stuff via UPS, FedEX or a luggage transfer service.

Check out Ken's Baggage Storage at SEA-TAC, use it and pick your bags up before the SEA-ANC trip.

How long between getting back to SEA and flying out to ANC? If you need to be in ANC, this is a very risky schedule. One delay into BOS and you may not get back to SEA till late in the evening.

27 minutes is "legal". I was looking at itineraries recently and SEA-BOS-IND came up with a 27 or 28 minutes connection in BOS. I was tempted to book it for the MQMs until I saw the connection time. Not risking that one. Even if you arrive on time, you're still arriving after boarding has begun and by the time you get to the gate, boarding will be mostly complete, making finding OH space pretty difficult.
