I received nothing when my flight was cancelled and I arrive home a day later. Save those PR miles for real problems, not running out of Gin or a cold plate.

I got miles one time on board the flight because the Go-Go wasn't working. I wasn't even attempting to use the Go-Go. But the FA came around the FC cabin and swiped everyone's Skymiles card to give us around 5,000 miles as compensation. This was on a DL Connection flight too (CRJ-900) too. I didn't complain but certainly found it weird. I don't know if the FA went through the Y cabin.

Ah to heck with the "Cold Plate Burrito" and the lack of Gin - now for a
serious complaint on the lack of "Woodford" - I ask for one as a PBb and
then again in flight and Delta is out - Better get a hold of Juan Valdez
(coffee lovers) and turn this flight around for a resupply or bring a KC135
along side to tanker it in - in sufficient volume to please.
The catering commissary supplying of liquor and meals is important but
I question if it merits boo-coo bonus miles for an abnormal not everyday event !

You're account will eventually be notated as a complainer. As mentioned above, most here would suggest saving your complaints for the big(ger) stuff.

What happens if you get notated as a complainer? Other than being notated as a complainer? Does it get you banned? More miles for complaints? Less miles?

Well, an extreme case would be the story in the link back in post #2.

In general, I think they're likely to take you less seriously when you have a truly important complaint. The few times I've complained, I've called, and started the conversation with: "I rarely complain, but . . . .", and the agents have always told me that, they know, and can see that. As a result, I believe, I've gotten $ECVs instead of miles.

It's up to the rep. My guess is fewer miles for complaints, and less likelihood of being able to get stuff you're not entitled to but that reps would probably give someone else (of equal status) under similar circumstances.

I'll still continue to send compliments in regardless, but I wonder if they track compliments too and if that weighs in on the decision on what compensation to give when you complain (ie, do they see you as not someone who is just complaining to get miles when you've shown that you write in with positive feedback as well).

This is what the rabbi got busted for

Just what is a TRULY IMPORTANT complaint? It's all in the mind of the complainant. We are all guilty to some degree of treating our own opinions as the only ones that matter. Delta is the judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to evaluating our complaints. If you don't agree with Delta you can always try your luck in court but few of us have the time and money to do that. The OP did not ask for or expect to receive miles. But Delta awarded them anyway. I once had a broken window shade and nonworking video monitor at my seat and Delta gave me a $250 travel voucher for reporting these problems. I just wanted them fixed, but I happily accepted the voucher and used it. Delta benefited by selling a seat that might otherwise have been empty.

That I am sure of as well.....

Linking said complaint to the OP soliciting ways to complain more to get more miles should cause entry into the CRM software for said customer to prevent fraudulent complaints in the future. They can track this. I hope they will. OP should have the rabbi treatment from DL. This is not a customer DL wants. More-specifically - this is not a customer that DL should want to reward further with anything.

Delta cancelled my final leg and put my bags on a different flight. Was MIA-JAX. First available flight was 14 hours later, the drive is 5. However, I waited in MIA for my bags, but Delta failed to tell me that my bags were already rerouted to JAX so I stayed the night in MIA. Long story, but it was a massive failure on Delta's part. To be fair, the reimbursed me for my rental, hotel, credited my last leg, and gave me 15k miles

I don't think anyone here thinks this is a fraudulent complaint. A TRIVIAL complaint - YES!

Besides, what, exactly, is a fraudulent complaint? Someone who nitpicks, could probably find something MINISCULE to complain about on nearly ANY flight, but, it's up to Delta to decide if it's worthy of a reward.

THIS, is certainly true, but, it's for Delta to decide - not the police, and / or court system.

I agree fully. I have forwarded said post to my contacts. I wish DL would be more-aggressive towards abuse like AA is. If there is verified abuse of the system, DL can ask the court system to decide in its favor. It would make for a stronger airline if they started doing it.

They intentionally allow people who check their bags (and therefore don't carry on) to board early, and say so when asking people to do that. I don't see how someone without a bag to stow slows boarding, especially since they're likely to be seated towards the rear and most SKY are seated in C+.

Did you check where your bags were on the app? (I know that it sometimes fails; it did for me a little while ago, when I took a VDB.)
