Delta, their errors in judgement etc...
Leaving for a short trip to Bermuda for business out of BWI. Of course there was connection involved out of Atlanta which still got me to Hamilton by 1PM. After sitting on the plane for what seemed forever we were told to disembark because there were mechanical problems. I along with the rest of the plane flock to customer service. I was told that I was going to miss my connection and there was not another flight out of there that day. After probing I was told they could fly me to JFK and I could get to Bermuda from there. I was almost tempted to either cancel my trip or go home and try and the next day from BWI. Off to JFK to board another flight when the gate agent said the only flight to Bermuda had left. Here I am in JFK, no luggage, negotiating about getting my luggage, round trip taxi voucher to and from hotel by airport. No one at any level at both airports when asked said their was no free or extra anything for their screw up. Any suggestions or take it like a schmuck and not waste any energy? P.S. I did get to my destination the next day with a day lost.

Why did you go to JFK? It is not a valid connection unless they told you it was leaving the next morning. No matter what, once you were delayed and missed the ATL connection you were not going to get into BDA until the next day. And, the flight from ATL doesn't arrive until 2:40pm. In any case, since it was a mechanical you can request some miles or maybe a small travel voucher.
