I got an email from Delta about the SEA service and how "many more connections to asia" are only 1 flight away!

The battle for NYC, then the battle for Seattle, now upgrades for premium passengers at LAX and now the battle for BOS? I suspect DL believes that it must be somewhat dominant at major cities/airports versus just ATL etc. and their traditional hubs, although IMO SEA doesn't quite fit the list.
Will ORD be next to get special treatment to make DL more prominent and more competitive for high yielding passengers there? OTOH to some extent DL has withdrawn from SFO, for instance by ceasing to operate the NRT nonstop after redlining it first with inferior aircraft types. |

I believe theat DL has operated these services before and they're not considered new.
Personally, it would have been quite significant if Delta had launched service BOS-NRT instead of JL being the first service from the Boston area to Asia. Now, with the addition of CX to HKG, new nonstop flights from LY and the EK flights; seems to my non-expert eyes that Boston finally has decent international options. In the past, you were quite limited to just Europe. (I am probably even missing a few other new airlines/routes, but you get the point....) |
Went to A6 Sky Club last week on the way to JRO, I must say; it's pretty small and with it being a Friday night, was hogged by the many Elites heading home for the weekend! 90% of the people there were heading to LGA/JFK! Only 50-70 seats. I still prefer the larger A17 club but will visit again when travelling domestically

I arrived on DL125 the other day and noticed the newly built E1C-E bearing the WN signs! What does this mean? Are they leaving!

I wonder how packed it will be during the 5-6am period.

Main Concourwe SkyClub temporarily closed til 24 Aug
Staff at the satellite terminal indicate it is planned improvements and expansion and that it "may" reopen tomorrow (25 Aug).
|
Wonder what they're doing? I know they had some curtained-off area where something was being modified, but its not like they can open up some other 'wing' to get more space.
|
Used the Sky Club in the main terminal on 9/20. First time back in that SC since the "old days" when Delta pretty much used all of Terminal A (~8-10-ish years ago?). Looks very familiar in layout although they are working on part of the area. Food offerings were good (breakfast time) in line with the upgraded items in other SC cities.
|
They moved the check-in desks across from here they were when the main terminal SC opened. A lot of general construction was going on when I was there a couple weeks ago. New flooring, status monitors going in where the check-in desks used to be, and removing some of the business pods for more general seating in the back area.
