breaking flight into components
Hi all-
I'm looking at DL 468 on August 28th SFO-JFK-TLV (change of planes, but one flight number). It is available in business class in the "standard" tier bucket.
Strangely, when I look at SFO-JFK on DL 468, it is only available in the "Peak" bucket.
How is that possible? I always thought that SFO-JFK-TLV would be priced using the worst component, so if SFO-JFK is "Peak" then SFO-JFK-TLV should be "Peak" as well.

Not on Delta, they don't.
What you have here is the case of a single flight number. This can be booked either as a single, direct flight with a stop, or as two different segments. These can have different inventory.
But otherwise, married segment logic does not apply to DL awards on DL metal.

DL does NOT ordinarilly provide greater inventory on the connection flights. Very annoying when you can get TLV-JFK, but then can't get a dumpy flight like JFK-MIA/FLL/PBI
