LAS-ATL last night in F; worked fine. Select movie in browser, movies in First and EC are free, login with name and seat number to verify, then it opens/plays in the GoGo Player app .
There was no verification of seat assignment or name, so I don't know how they're going to offer free content to some customers and charge others. |

PHX-ATL yesterday in First. 90% of the library was not free.

I tried out Delta Studio last night DTW-XNA. I spent about 30 minutes troubleshooting on a live chat, so I'll pass along what I discovered.
If you are logged into your Gogo account on your iOS device, you will NOT have the "Entertainment" option from the Gogo homepage and cannot choose on demand content. Once you sign out, the menu shows the "Entertainment" and "My Library" options. The live chat agent was not aware of this and is passing the info along, so hopefully it's fixed soon. Once I figured that out, I was able to add content to my library but it would not play on my iPhone. I could choose the content from Delta Studio within the Fly Delta app and it would launch the Gogo video plugin, but it would not go past that screen. I rebooted my phone twice and it still wouldn't work. On my laptop, after I downloaded the browser plugin (took about 15 seconds for the 8 MB file) and restarted the browser, the content played fine and I didn't notice any lagging during the few minutes I let the video run. I was able to skip ahead in the movie without any problems. I had to validate my seat in F by entering my name and seat number. I played around with entering a few different things and can confirm that it will only validate your seat when you enter your name exactly as it appears on your ticket and your correct seat number. Once that was done, all content was available for no charge. Once added to your library, the content is valid for 24 hours. I suppose that means that if you're in Y on another flight within the next 24 hours, you'll still have access to the premium content in your library for no charge since thankfully it doesn't ask you to validate every time you begin playback. I was curious what would happen if I tried to access the movies in my library once I was on the ground, so I pulled up Delta Studio on my iPhone and got the Introduction screen like I had gotten before boarding the flight. When I got home, I changed the name of my wireless network to "gogoinflight" and was able to pull up my library on my iPhone as if I was on the plane. However when I tried to play a video, I got a message that said "Playback for this title is only available in the air." Looks like they figured that part out. :) They obviously still have some kinks to work out on the iOS side, but everything did seem to working fine on my laptop. |
Please explain, exactly what should I try to download before my flight? Links? [I couldn't find anything about this in the DL press release.]

Delta Studio
Hi
Studio will not work in 64 bit browser. So a newer laptop and microsoft surface are a nogo. Ios and android phone and tablets(except older android models) work. How to get to studio Easier way is to open a browser once you connect to gogo inflight. Towards the middle of the page is a item concerning delta . Click on delta and it will take you to the movies and tv programs offered. Once you select , you will see how much it will cost you and on the same screen also show how to get it for free and as a first, international business or economy comfort. Passenger. If you are eligible for it to be free it will ask for your name and seat number. Once started you can continue it on another flight(you login is good for 24 hrs) no mater what the length. I was in two planes last week (1 fours hours the other 50 minutes ) and was able to use studio on those flights. Both flights only had wifi and no other ife's. |
I tried yesterday to get it to work doing everything that was posted on each GOGO and Delta websites and couldn't get anything to work/find any content. I gave up and just kept drinking.

anyone tried it with S4? Mine always drops the Gogo wireless because it doesn't have internet access, so I doubt this will work for me. Google/Samsung have removed options to force it to stay connected.

Today, SEA-ATL DL1223 had no features announced in the company release.
FA said we misread the fine print: Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today announced it will begin offering free entertainment options on all of its domestic aircraft and two-cabin regional jets beginning on Aug. 1. |
Had great success accessing the Studio entertainment on my TPA-ATL flight on a 757. I connected to GoGo (did not pay), found the movie and TV options and started streaming once my name and seat were added. Great quality and variety. I look forward to this option for many flights ahead. Way to go Delta!!
Having used this similar feature on Virgin Australia earlier this year, I'm excited to have it available here. |
Tonight on ORF-ATL, working smoothly. A couple of observations.
Logging in and downloading the plugin took less than one minute including restart of the browser. Someone said that if you were logged into Gogo for internet access then the Delta Connect would disappear. I went in and started Delta Connect and streamed a program, THEN in a separate window logged into Gogo and I didn't have any problems. Second, I noticed that when I was using Gogo, the internet surfing was slower than normal. It's always fairly slow, but today it was particularly slow. The Delta Connect streaming was completely seamless and never a skip. I did have to log in with my last name and seat number, and when I mistyped my own last name it accepted it based on the seat number. |
MSP-SEA 757-300. The Fly Delta app kept buffering when playing a movie. Switched to the GoGo Player and it played without any hiccups.
iPad Mini. Installed the GoGo Player from the App Store before boarding. There is a Fly Delta app update available from the App Store that includes Delta Studio, but the GoGo Player works better. The GoGo page rejected my first name/last name/EC seat number input until I included my middle name in the first name field. Then the movies were free. |

Can anyone who has used this already tell me if there were any live TV streaming options for use on your iPad/iphone?
|
Delta Studio
I saw no live tv options , just preloaded movies and tv programs.
