757 cabin refurbs reported done as of 12/22/17.
2Ku satellite WiFi upgrades completed 2/25/18. See post #897.
ViaSat IFC mods began July 2021 on 75D fleet. Completed April 2022 (excluding parked aircraft).
ViaSat IFC mods began Nov 2022 on 75H fleet. Completed April 2023.

Current configurations:
75S – C16W44Y108 (International/BOS/DCA/JFK-CA) flatbeds in C, WiFi, PTVs, winglets and ETOPS.
75D – F20W29Y150 AVOD, ISP, ViaSat WiFi, new lavs/seats/galleys/bins/PSUs/LED/*Sat TV on ex.-75X fleet* lighting and winglets.
75H – F20W29Y150 AVOD/Sat TV, ISP, ViaSat WiFi, new lavs/galleys/bins/PSUs/LED lighting, winglets and ETOPS.
75G – F20W41Y132 AVOD/Sat TV, ISP, WiFi, new lavs/seats/galleys/bins/PSUs/LED lighting, winglets and ETOPS.
75C – F72 NBA/Charter configuration. Delta doesn't include these in their active fleet in the 10Q filing 7/13/17.

658 is operating a roundtrip to IND today (flt 1342) and the seat map is still showing the old configuration.

According to a thread on a.net, the seat configuration of the 75P will be C20W41Y132, so that finally eliminates the possibility that they would become 75Ss. Thus the only reason that the fleet #s (6819-6823) are consecutive with the existing 75Ss (6801-6818) is because the registrations are N819DX-N823DX. So for all intents and purposes the 75P will be very similar to 75H spec, with a loss of one row of six seats in the main cabin.

Well I guess this subfleet will now be permanent. Will be rather annoying when subbing in aircraft with the loss of one row of seats. With the DL/KE JV announcement, I expect NRT-GUM/SPN/ROR to go away very shortly after the JV goes into effect.

I don't get it. If it just went through a major mx check, then why leave the cabin in the old spec?

Looks like N623DL is off to BYH tomorrow as 9931.

Although not confirmed, 623 is the only bird slated to retire that is not showing any flights tomorrow.

Updated the wiki with that, along with some other corrections to retired aircraft as it was inaccurate. Also pulled 660 out of the in mods section and simplified the list of planes to get modded.

Regarding why 658-660 haven't gotten mods... I believe something was said a while ago 658-669 would get mods this fall but I'm not 100% sure. As the post above mentioned it is possible that their return/stay of execution is going to be shorter than originally planned and they won't get modded at all.

The problem with these birds not getting modded yet, if at all, is that if a swap is done with a 75D, then the seat map is all wrong, with the cabin going from F24W20Y136 to F20W29Y150! And you know it's bound to happen!

If I'm not mistaken, the reason why some of the old 757s that were recently at SAL/IND did not receive the new interior is that Delta decided to keep/bring out of retirement these aircraft and did not have the seats/interior parts. Its my understanding that they will eventually receive the new interior but this will come at a later date, maybe not until next year whereas the slightly newer ones are receiving the new interior right now. Its incredible what Delta has been able to do with keeping the 757 fleet and just a reconfiguration was able to breathe some new economic life into the aircraft and low oil prices for the medium to long term. However, if oil spikes, I would suspect these aircraft will be shown the desert sooner versus later.

Given some of the oldest 757s, N658DL-N660DL, and likely N665DN when its brought out of storage, these aircraft were undoubtedly given what Delta calls a M check. Assuming oil is stable for the next five to six years, Delta is going to have 77 757s needed to be replaced starting around 2022-2023. By the end of the decade, Delta will have to decide how to replace these narrowbody low-CASM aircraft. The 120 737-900ERS and 82 A321s will finish deliveries at the end of 2019, replacing pre-1990 757s (except some of the Charter 757s), domestic 767s (except the four ETOPS aircraft), all MD-88s, and the small motor A320s. The only two aircraft that Delta will most likely consider replacing the 77 757s are the A321 NEO and 737-10 MAX. If I had the wager, I would guess Delta goes with the 737-10 MAX as Boeing will be more desperate to sell the aircraft and given the stretch, it would seat 192 passengers according to Delta specifications, whereas the A321 NEO would seat 189, per Delta's seat map for the A321 CEO.

I'd like to think I'm a pretty smart guy, but the wiki in this thread is very confusing to me, right now it says:

If I add up all the converted and mods in process planes, that comes to 115 aircraft. Then there are the nine aircraft that are not listed as leaving the fleet, which it seems unclear if they will be converted or not (e.g., the often discussed N658DL-N660DL aircraft).

Anyway, I'm not criticizing the effort put in by folks in creating and maintaining this thread, but it's surprising how much detail there is, but the detail doesn't appear to make sense, but maybe I'm missing something ...

Argh, Thanks for catching that. You weren't missing anything

111 is still the number as far as I know. The mismatch appears to be on the PMDL line; "49x 75D" should be "41x 75D" as there are 49 75Ds in total across the whole fleet. Fixed that.

The 75Gs will all become 75P once their mods are done. The lines in the wiki mean that 1 is in mod while the other 4 are still in 75G config. Edited that line to be consistent with the others.

675 is back in service with the 75D cabin.
Expect 678 back in service any day now.

75G >75P N819DX is possibly in the air right now doing a test hop, as I believe it's the only B752 @VQQ currently.
