Why is 1R not a full door on the 717? Not enough room in the galley area? Seems like it would be a PITA for catering and others servicing the aircraft. Wasn't a full door an option on some DC9's?
I beleive all MD-80 series planes have the small door at 1R.

ECP to get 717 starting 03NOV13

ECP to get 717 starting 03NOV13 with 1flight and over time all flights (6flights) will be the 717.

Makes sense. Great aircraft for a small to mid-sized market. Although I just checked the flight schedules for ECP for today and it shows they have 11 flights going to ATL and 9 tomorrow. Is it their season?

Well, looks like 06JAN is when they go down to 6flights a day, which in a way is low season. Then looks like spring break time they get a CR7 added.

Either way it's a far cry from the AT7s that used to fly into and out of the old airport.

Hmm, I can fly ECP but VPS is more convenient. I would like to try this aircraft. It will certainly beat the A319s/320s they have starting flying instead of MD88s on some of our routes from here.

Exactly. And, everyone knows the key to aircraft utilization is making sure it always pulls out on time.

First DL 717 cabin photo

At A.net, someone has posted the first cabin photo of DL's 717s, so I decided to share it here:

Interesting that the photoluminescent emergency light paths are blue instead of the usual yellow/green. Perhaps they should be pink by the exits.

Winged headrests are a nice touch. Do we know what the pitch is going to be? Trying to decide if it looks a bit tight in the photo.

What is UP with delta and that damned BLUE leather (grrrrr)

Otherwise, very nice. The first time for me on a 717 was Airblue (a subsidiary of SAS) a few months ago. Their's are also brand new. Felt much roomier than a CRJ 7 or 9 and windows are finally at actual eye level
