Thanks for replacing the November 2012 PDF flight schedule with the December 2012 PDF schedule. But ... in case you hadn't noticed, it is January now.

I haven't kept up with this thread, so I don't know if this is a new issue or not . . . .

I booked a crazy-routing trip to IST just now. The return is via DL259 AMS/MSP. Row 29 exit row seats show all open if I view the seat map as if I'm trying to book a new flight. On the seat map in my confirmed reservation, they're ALL TAKEN!!

I called, and they're all open - - GO FIGURE - - so, I was able to book it with the phone agent, but I couldn't do it myself online.

Any thoughts??

The text only site still needs to send you to some graphical interface sections for certain functions --- all of which seem to be useless without Java (which you should have blocked until the huge current vulnerability is patched, and which Apple has blocked for you on Snow Leopard and newer OS).

I'm assuming this is a delta.dumb problem but I can't see flights on VA anymore. Can anyone confirm this is a delta.dumb issue instead of an issue between DL and VA?

?

Jave is not JavaScript. I am not aware of dl.com using Java (client side), and the security flaw does not relate to JavaScript (AFAIK).

JavaScript is most certainly not Java, and Delta Dumb is essentially unusable without it. My source says Delta does use Java on their side, so I guess we need DeltaITGuy to clear things up for us (and to explain the inter-platform severe variations and nonfunctionalities).

Disabling Java on your computer will not impact your ability to use DL's site.

I am in a hotel in northern France, trying ot access DL.dumb.

First, it takes minutes for the first page to load. Reminiscent of when someone tries to e-mail you PowerPoint presentation with a lot of embedded photos which were passed in at their maximum resolution... and the file sizes is multi-hundred megs.

BTW... other graphic intensive sites, such as CNN, are opening in a fraction of the time.

The bigger kicker is that, once the web site has loaded, there is no log in option on the home page and many of the links did not work initially.

I wondered around the site until I found another page that provided the log in options. Then, when I went back to the home page, the other links would work.

Every page is still S - L - O - W.

looks like delta's back-end application is java. the big clue is the .action extension used in the URLs. this usually indicates a struts architecture (although .action can certainly me mapped to whatever).

i have yet to see any indication that java is needed client-side in delta.com. turn it off and be more secure. actually, there is likely no site that most people here frequent that has any need for in-browser java. kill it until you find a real need for it. you'll be safer that way.

Yes, if I disable Java the Delta interactive advertisement site works fine, but some of my porno sites do not.

Anybody notice that when booking a ticket, it no longer tells you how many MQMs the ticket will be before purchase?

Are you booked on a code share?

I had a similar problem on an AF codeshare for SFO-LAX a bit ago. All seats were available except every EC seat and every exit row seat. Called and sure enough they were there. Snagged 13B on my CR9

this is true, but aside from users who interact with 'spicier' destinations, pretty much everyone else will likely not come across a site that requires the java plugin. i update mine regularly, but i keep it turned off. the places i visit do not use java.
