OT But because PreCheck was mentioned - the other day I tried to use it but was denied in SLC. I found it odd because it was never a problem before. However, I was flying international as before it was always domestic. Any one ever been denied cause your flight was international?

I am not saying Orlando is easy, but the trick to getting through security there is to NOT think like normal airports. Forget the Expert Taveler Line. Watch to see which moves fastest, and look to see how the lines to the scanners are. Often the quickest line is towards the center, or on the other side of the elevators to the Hyatt. It might seem like complete chaos, but if you watch carefully the number of people who go through those checkpoints it's pretty smooth given the volume.

The MCO airport director has refused repeatedly to not include a SkyPriority or first class lane. Why? It would cut into his cut of the $$$ coming from that Clear scam.

Did you add your Trusted Traveler number to your SkyMiles profile? There's a spot online, and you give them the 9xxxxxxxxxx number from your GE card (or from GOES if you don't have a GE card). For GE members, assuming your Trusted Traveler number is entered properly, it isn't supposed to be invitation only.

Clear is great. With Clear I can get from short term parking to the gate/sky club in less than 15 minutes as long as the tram to the airside is on time. Worth every penny. I remember before I joined Clear I had someone offer me money to cut in front of me in the general security line at MCO.

Wow, it's been years since I've heard about Clear. I just thought they stopped doing it.

It's only at MCO, DEN, and SFO.

judging by my unofficial survey of the number of people using clear, i suspect its second-coming may not last either.

I used it last week- went in the regular line because it was slow and was escorted to Pre check. It's great!

Yep, my TT number has been entered into my SM profile but still nothing. Haven't seen anything in my last 4 trips since TSA Pre went into affect so I figured it's invitation only.

I know, it's probably because B6 has so many people flying out...

(I also travel to Delray often)

Anyways, I have to say I hate MCO. MCO is the only airport where I can compare it to an Airport in Asia. Nothing but long lines and disorganized staff. Kind of like flying out of the Kalibo Airport in the Philippines.
Well, it depends on your airport in Asia. HKG, NRT, ICN, HND are all fantastic, in my expereince, and even PVG and SHA are quite good. Other domestic airports in China... cringe...

You might want to make sure the info is also in your itin each time you fly. In the beginning, this was an issue and sometimes had to be added manually but AFAIK, it has been fixed. Well, for me anyway but it is always a good idea to verify the TT info in your travel itin, not just your profile.

As for CLEAR, it was really great... until PreCheck. Still have my CLEAR card but PreCheck is much faster if you can qualify. If PreCheck fails, CLEAR is a great backup but honestly, hardly worth it at $179/yr unless you fly through MCO often and can't get through PreCheck.
