IMO two forms of Skyclub membership should auto-upgrade you to an Exec membership. That would eliminate all of these problems, and not make it seem like DL is just being cheap to their most valued customers (It's the principal of it, not the money!)
I don't see it that way even though your suggestion would benefit me. The credit card access to the lounge is one of many benefits of the card. Once you make Diamond and get complimentary access, you can cancel or downgrade the card and get a refund on a prorated portion of your annual credit card fee. If you value the other perks on the card, you can keep it, but that doesn't mean Delta should give you an even better benefit for keeping it.

Actually they should. I presume that they make more money from it.

I think Ive got one...

Standing at our gate, at a high table/bench with powerpoints and my phone is charging, Ive been there for approx less than 5mins/came from the lounge so wasnt long.

Guy walks up to me: Excuse me, I need to charge my phone.

Me: Oh. (I move a bit, thinking hes going to use one of the other power points but notice the other power points are in use).

Him: Can you unplug your phone so I can change mine?

Me: Umm, No. Im using it at the moment.

Him: But I need to charge my phone.

Me: And so do I.

Him: But I need to charge my phone.

Me: (Looks at him, decide hes not a threat/I can take him on). And so do I.

Him: Really?

Me: Yes, really. There are only a few power points and they are already taken.

My husband, who is a gentle giant walks up: Mate. Find somewhere else to charge your phone.

Him: F*** you and he walks away.

All very strange.

Im not a petite thing so there was no way he was going to bully me. If he said, I have to phone my wife or some other story I might have but his overall attitude got my back up.

Didnt see him on our flight and we were row 1 so I was watching for him.

And/or one of these or something similar. Leave your various wall warts at home, and make friends at crowded charging stations

"Him: But I need to charge my phone.

Him: But I need to charge my phone."
---------------

I particularly like it when people make a statement, get an objection and then repeat the statement ("But I need to charge my phone") as though the other person does not exist or has absolutely no significance doing the same exact thing. Good that you stood your ground.

Not too long ago, as I still remember visiting the one in ATL concourse E (Where the current Skyclub is located) and I've been flying DL for around 10 years.

I fly with two large double port battery packs, two smaller single port battery packs, a usb multi-port splitter, a heavy duty extension cord and a one-to-three outlet splitter. https://www.fruitridgetools.com/elec...FVM2gQodAPMMZg

The extension cord and splitter are needed for work, but get used in many airports. "Do you mind if I put the splitter in so we can share the outlet?" usually gets the response, "No problem...I should carry one of those." The splitter also comes in handy in the SC where workstations often only have two outlets and I'm trying to use two computers, charge two phones and a set of wireless earbuds.

Since most adapter and low power devices like multi-port usb chargers does not need grounding I use a two blade three socket version which is quite a bit smaller for travel.

I use this, which sounds like what you're describing, and absolutely love it. The QuickCharge port gets compatible phones juiced up really, really quickly: https://www.amazon.com/Charge-Anker-.../dp/B017JSZKGY

I also carry around a "squid" cable sort of like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Accelerated-C...5846462&sr=1-5

Works great if you're in a space where it's easier to share a USB port than swap out the brick or add an outlet splitter/strip.

But....can we ship these last few posts over to Travel Tech and get back to DYKWIA posts? This is turning into DYKWPTICIMB* territory...

The last time I explicitly remember them was on a trip to Venice in 2009 in J on the seasonal ATL-VCE. I dont think they made it far into that year.

Interesting - we hear so many references to the Crown Rooms but nothing about BE lounges. Glad this was brought up.
