It would be interesting to find out who actually sits in the seat for the most hours over a year.... segment qualifiers or MQM qualifiers.
Assuming you are first to board and, on average, you sit down 30 minutes before doors close and 10 minutes after landing.... except in Detroit where you sit for 30 minutes after landing for taxiing and gate agent to show up at jet bridge (j/k). .....

How can you guys do over over 140 segments? That's just brutal. Full respect.
Delta - I am done for the year thank god.

MQM: 132,577
A few paid business TATL/TPAC trips each year make it so much easier.

With my last flight of the year, qualified for DM with exactly 140 segments. It's been a long year, and I've seen the inside of Hartsfield far too often, but let's hope it's makes next year a slight bit more tolerable.
I imagine it's a small club of DMs who qualified on segments - anyone else out there?

109,375 MQM
My flights this year have been about 90 mins from take-off to touchdown, and I think that you could add almost an hour to that for boarding, waiting, deplaning. If I had to guess? Say 2+ hours per flight, so somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 hours on planes?

A former boss of mine used to travel every week - out Sunday Afternoon GRR-DTW-MCI and then back Thursday and thus 4 MQS per week for 50 weeks per year for a Grand Total of 200 MQS per annum. Sounds brutal but very do-able.

fwiw, I have at least 2 coworkers who earned their status the same way.
