DM by MQS
With my last flight of the year, qualified for DM with exactly 140 segments. It's been a long year, and I've seen the inside of Hartsfield far too often, but let's hope it's makes next year a slight bit more tolerable.
I imagine it's a small club of DMs who qualified on segments - anyone else out there?

A tip of the hat to all those who qualify on segs. I am a long haul flyer so not even close to your figure. As they say in the movies, you are a better road warrior than I am, Gunga Delta. ^

Wow, I tend to do 30-45 segments per year, although this year it is fewer than that.

+1. I qualified on MQMs two weeks ago. With my last flight tomorrow night, I will have 89 MQS. I cannot imagine qualifying on MQS!

100 MQS on the year here. At minimum 50% of my travel has been on CRJ's. Two more segments in 2011 and one of those is on a CR2. First DL flight of 2011 actually wasn't until Mid-March.

After 30+ years (and 5 DVT's later) of doing it week in and week out, you just get numb to it. The trips I hate are the 24 hours trips to Asia for a couple of days and back. The body just does not handle it well anymore. We have guys in our company who make those trips 12-16 times a year for a week or two. That is just as tough and most of them would trade with me in a heart beat.
I've made a lot of good friends with several airlines over the years and we still stay in touch. I know every gate agent by name in CLT and a good portion of them in ATL. They are wonderful people who truly care and go about of their way to make the trips each week go well.
Take me off the road for two weeks and I get real antsy and my wife hands me the phone to book a trip.........

As you see in my sig, I qualified for segments at 151 -- however I was already qualified under MQM. I have 2 more segments before end of year
If rollover works like last year I'll be rolling over enough MQM for just shy of Diamond for 2013. So even though I'll probably have >140 again next year it won't be necessary.
