Seating on CRJ

Seating on CRJ
Flying into MIA for my first time on Sunday 27 Nov on DL 4935 Delta.com says its a CRJ 100 which AFIK isn't a delta connection aircraft. Anyway my question is this. I always like the window on flights to places I've never been so that I can get some of the view which is better a row up front or the exit row 8? Also which side should I be on. I've done FLL a million times. But never flown into MIA.

CRJ fuselage are small and the upper curvature will interfere with most of their window seat's head and shoulder room. The windows on them are positioned lower so one would need to bend down to get any view out of the window.

The exit row on a CRJ, like most aircraft, is over the wing so most of your limited view will be of painted aluminum. I like rows 2 and 3 and find the aisle actually gets a better view than the window because of the low placement of the windows.
Try to get a row to yourself for the best view. I unwillingly got moved to the last row and got some good views but this is more uncomfortable than the rest of the plane. For the 45 minutes you will be in the air it will be tolerable.

Exit rows are not worth it. They don't have noticeably more legroom than a standard row.

I try booking 1B or 1C on the CRJ because the bulkhead does not extend all the way. Legroom is restricted in 1A and 1D because of the bulkhead. In general I avoid all window seats on the CRJ unless the only other option is right next to the engine or the row in front of the exit row

However, Medallion members can select 1B or 1C ahead of time these days... recent change (a few months ago) by Delta. But you can be bumped from them at gate if GA needs the seat for physically impaired person or other need.

The structural ribs on the CRJs intrude into the windox pax's space. Also, on the CRJ-200s, the windows are very low, and, as has been noted, if you're taller than about 5'0" you will get a better view from the aisle seat. On the 700s and 900s the windows are located significantly higher and give my 6'0" self a very good view unless over the wing.

1b and 1c are available seat guru doesn't mention the extra leg room I always avoid bulkheads because i find them very cramped. Is there a preferred side? I know this is a lot of work for a short flight. But appreciate the help

There really are no good seats on these aircraft, but 1C does have the most leg room (IMO 1B is a bad seat with a cramped bulkhead).
As other's have said, you can't see out the window when you are in a "window seat." Pick an aisle and wait until the last possible minute to board - it's not like there is any bin space, PFBs, etc. to lose out on.

the other pain with the window exit row seats is the one and only arm rest is the shared one with the aisle seat... none on the window side....
