Sounds as bad as my DEN/LAX flight on Thursday morning except they were going to see Mickey on the other coast and it was on Southwest. A 7:45 a.m. flight after less than 3 hours of sleep on a WN flight with a clan of kettles going to see Mickey is NOT fun

Not for another three months - first trimester and all that.

The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World's been around for almost 40 years (turns 40 in October), and Kettles haven't been "priced out" yet. There's no shortage of capacity at MCO, and there's several low-cost airlines with big presences at MCO that are more than willing to take up the slack if Delta doesn't serve the market well.

This is another example of why DL (and the other legacy carriers) should be cheering the acquisition of FL by WN. FL has a sizable presence at MCO. Thanks to WN, DL now has one fewer LCC to compete with there.

Not sure about MCO, but I have been checking the Delta flights I have booked lately wehre WN has service, jsut to see how WN compares, and WN has always been more expensive and you have layovers to deal with as well where DL was direct. In many cases, even if the kettles had to pay to check a bag on DL, it would still be cheaper to take DL. Plus, if they can't check in at exactly t-24 add another $20 for EBCI on top of the airfare.

Hopefully the kettles won't start shopping around on delta for airfares.

^^

Yes, I too was fortunate as a child to have parents who had definite expectations of good behavior. Dress neatly (jacket and tie, even), be polite, and respect the space and privacy others (particulalry adults). Misbehavior was absolutely unacceptable, and upon return home was met with swift and harsh punishment. Had I as a child (in the late 1960s) exhibited the behavior that today is sometimes allowed/tolerated from some children on airplanes, I would have been sold to Somali slave traders...

I find often well-behaved children on my flights (some even surprisingly so on long-haul international flights), but the exceptions are notable. What is escpecially notable to me is the high correlation between poorly-behaving children and parents/grandparents who belive that the entire universe revolves around them and/or their little monsters. They seem in my observation to be cut from a similar cloth as the DYKWIA people, who BTW, will run over OTHER people's small children in order to claim their "rightful" place as the first to board.

Anyone else share this observation?

I suspect that, particularly for MCO, WN and DL (and other carriers) are all highly competitive. The other legacy carriers, in particular, are probably highly grouped since they can be "one stop shopped" using Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak, or any number of other sites.

However, they do have a much scarier one to compete with on ATL-MCO.

I think it depends on how much WN ups their capacity over whatever AirTran already had in place. ATL-MCO has been an AirTran heavy route for years (AirTran hub to AirTran hub).

Kids are terrible. If you need to travel with kids, you should be required to do it Griswald style in the family truckster.

???-MCO is destined to always be filled with kettles and Americas gross national product (bow to Florence King). Expecting otherwise is like walking into a brothel and and being shocked, shocked, that there are hookers inside. You're also going to get hyper kids who quickly get cabin fever being "supervised" by parents who have invested a lot of $ for this trip and therefore feel as entitled as a Dilithium Medallion.

I am somewhat conflicted here having been a parent of a frequent flier (including been the sole escort of a 2-yo FT-trained FO from SYD-LAX who complained about the other kids and passengers, how loud they were, how they talked too much, how they were slobs, how they wouldn't sit down, or buckle up, and my favorite: how slow they were in the security line) and also having to sit next to the odd unattended pro-choice poster child belonging to someone else. I don't know what's worse: a kettle toddler or a 2-yo DYKWIA fartling who knows the FA has those little red cookies somewhere (god help us if he ever flies United) and wants to know what happened to his upgrade because "there are too many people in here" and "these seats are too small."

In all seriousness, my monster is well-behaved (because of course of all of OUR kids are well behaved, not to mention smart and cute) or is at least as well-behaved as can be expected, knows the drill and that there are consequences for being naughty -- hence his expecting people to have their laptops and shoes ready to go through the metal detector: no red cookies for them.

Don't you remember the "history" of Disney World? It was SWAMP LAND that they filled in to create the area where it all sits.

One could only HOPE and PRAY a sink hole will open up some day and swallow it all.

As a former employee of a certain "film" company who is a huge sponsor at Disney we had to spend too many "meetings" at the Rat's Palace. To this day I find the whole area repulsive.
