WN moving into Delta Land in ATL

How does DL feel about WN moving into ATL with the purchase of AT?

Better yet, how about having Theresa Wise show the audience how to book a revenue ticket on DL.COM? Doesn't have to be anything complicated (like an overseas itinerary that involves a SkyTeam partner) but perhaps a domestic routing with a stop or two.

If DeltaMatic doesn't choke on that formidible task, then the showstopper can be having DL's CIO book an international award ticket at a low redemption level. I'm sure that this technical sleight of hand will bring the crowd to their feet, for she will have performed something that few mortals are able to replicate.

(And remember, if it doesn't work she can always recover by calling the Diamond Line for help)

Lithium ion products in cargo hold

What safeguards/restrictions are put on shipments of lithium ion batteries and the products (computers, cellphones, etc) that can flame up in the cargo hold?

It would be great if we could get more than three Job Well Done coupons to distribute per year. Perhaps some number could be given for every 25,000 miles above 75,000. I'd also be willing to pay a nominal amount of money or miles to have a few more to use.

Also, it would be great if these could be electronic so that one could print out one or two before a trip for GAs and FAs and so that one could easily read the number from the computer to a DM line agent on the phone without fumbling for the paper.

Well Done Certificates--can we get more than the three we get, or is there some way to order more once you have used up your three?

Mrs. Cholula and I are in the process of classifying and recapping the questions as I write this and will work your variation into the mix.

As an FYI to everybody, Gargoyle and I have been corresponding about these questions this morning and some time in the next 24 hours they will appear in Post #2 in this thread. We can then add additional questions as they appear.

A couple more IT-related questions to add...

[1] Why can't I delete my expired promotions? If they no longer have value, they are worthless to keep in my list.

[2] Looking up a new itinerary by schedule/multi-city, why can't I sort them by departure time? For that matter, why can't I set a preference that I want to view all schedules by departure time?

Responsibility is for shipper and freight forwarder to obide by TSA / IATA requirements, not the carrier.

Sounds like a recipe for another ValuJet 592.

Incidentally, the NTSB did assign part of the blame for the crash to ValuJet for failing to supervise the freight shipper.

Additionally, will we ever be able to see prices, segment-by-segment, while searching a multi-city itinerary?

Thanks for all the hard work, Gargoyle. It makes it so much easier to see all the questions this way.

I will add another question that needs to go under the Deaf Ears category...

LAS is probably the most used DL airport without a SC. With the merger of CO/UA coming and the awkward location of the CO lounge, any chance DL will take over the CO lounge location which is central to the DL gates?

c_d Oct 3, 2010 11:44 pm

Would it be possible to add the question:

"Why are Non-US based customers (in particular European-based) not getting any love from DL? We are stuck with:
  • almost no perks but an occasional priority security line
  • almost no promotions, highly constraining us in terms of status: my DL-metal flights this year are ~70k with 100% of the miles flown. The AMEX-bonus alone would kick me to Plat, the occasional double-MQM even to Diamond. I am not even counting in the 5/10/15k MQM-give aways from last yer.
  • Why is DL paying to advertise like hell in European markets while not being up to the task in terms of customer service: no genuine personell at the airports and phone CSR is often speaking Polish instead of German!
  • Why can't I check in online when I am an European (for the TATL outbound)?
  • Why do I have to search by schedule when I want to book TATL's on DL metal? There is a reson why I navigate to delta.com and not af/klm.com!
  • Why are we Europeans banned from the skymiles marketplace, car rental and hotel boni, and CC offers while the respective companies are operating in our market?
  • Why is a regular flight (with mileage credit) to JFK ~450€ and an award SkyPesos flight in Y ~100k SkyPesos plus ~300€ in fees? My lady booked the very same flight vice-versa with miles and paid less than $50!

When will lie-flats be installed in most/all of the TATL BE cabins?

Seminole_Kev Oct 4, 2010 8:39 am

Sky Club related but:

More of a "pre" question for Delta in regards to the meeting, but will the person responsible for the Sky Club program within Delta be present? (Also, perhaps as a simple way to find out who is actually in charge of that component and perhaps forge some better pathways for communication going forward).

^^ Well done!

Also, I'm very very impressed by the quality of the questions here. What an imformed group we are. Hopefully this shows the DL Execs we mean business.
