These are "some" of the questions I have for them?

1. Whatever happened to the Chisholm and Seattle NWA call centers? You have lost competent resources answering email messages forget taking calls.

2. Have you ever used your own website for booking flights or award tickets? Maybe then you will understand how distasteful your brand has become to some in FT.

3. Why this indifference to Medallion passengers from Delta agents? The most common answer is KLMsque "No sir, that will not be possible"

4. When can I expect you to stop charging $20 telephone booking fee for Diamond Medallion members?

5. Last question: How many NWA Platinum Elite members have you lost in the last year to your competition? Are you aware of the dis-satisfaction from Medallion members posting on FT? Or are you of the same attitude as the DL sympathizers on this board?

Two items for me - I agree with all the prior submissions:

First, the ability to have PNRs combined. Easy to split but cannot merge.

Situation: I purchased a ticket along with an AMEX companion ticket for my daughter. Good price, good deal. My wife was traveling with us and her ticket had the same class and fare as mine. However, it was not possible to combine the two PNRs for SkyPriority benefits. Even though her ticket was purchased with a DL Reserve card, because she was not the primary card holder and not on the same PNR as me, she would have had to pay a baggage fee as well as a higher zone for boarding (as it turned out she only used a carry on and she was able to board with us anyway.)

There are other scenarios where when all other factors being the same (class, etc) that combining would be beneficial.

Second: The education of DL food service and their contracted caterers that non-dairy vegetarian means just that; non-dairy. Both my daughter and I have received meals that were requested in advance, labeled as such, and yet contained dairy and in two meals only discovered after the initial consumption. Once is excusable, but multiple times from different stations leads me to believe that there is a misconnect.

Relatively minor yet both can impact many.

If you notice my quote above from their e-mail, it says the changes are bolded.

So I know exactly what the changes were.

I just checked my most recent email and I don't get bolded lines about what was changed, I get my itinerary with the entire segment(s) that were changed in bold:

Flight: Delta 101
Departs: 10:15 am from Los Angeles, California
Arrives: 5:37 pm at Atlanta, Georgia
Seats: 02A
Cabin: Business Class

From my perspective, some clarity & consistency between customer notifications is in order and hopefully it's already in the works.

If I go to my itineraries on delta.dumb it has a note that there have been changes with green check mark next to the entire segment(s) changed, but again, no specifics (ie: time, seat, flight #) bolded or in green, etc.

You lost me here. I never get a DL email, but when I check the DL web it highlights the new schedule and hides the previous version. I then have to click to compare the two versions and decide whether to call or simply click continue.

Once you do that the green mark persists for weeks, months.

Along those same lines, is it feasible to automatically import our contact information from our SM account for each itinerary?

It used to be that way pre-merger. I find it to be a pain to have to add it to every itinerary.

Parochial issue, but has greatly impacted me. When SLC-SBA was discontinued, why weren't code shares put on the American Eagle LAX-SBA evening flights that connect with the afternoon/evening JFK-LAX departures? (They are on flights up to about 1:30pm) The only way for me to book on dl.com and have Delta-coded flights is for me to take a day off of work to travel (meaning take a morning JFK-LAX flight)...not going to happen.

Well Done Certificates--can we get more than the three we get, or is there some way to order more once you have used up your three?

It is extremely difficult for overseas passengers to get Medallion status and/or SkyMiles. I can only get them when flying to the US or to a few European cities serviced by SkyTeam.

An American resident can earn them on almost every flight he takes, if he wants, as well as get them from numerous partner sources not available to foreign residents.

Other airlines recognize the fact that residents of countries in which those airlines are not flagged have this problem and make earning status easier for them. They generally require less miles to be flown. CO gives free Presidents Club membership to foreign residents who reach Platinum.

Delta, however, does not (except in Asia). Moreover, there are never targetted offers for foreign residents. This is true even where Delta has very strong competition -- like in Israel. If flying to the States, I can choose between 3 US-based airlines, El Al, and perhaps 15 or 20 European-based companies.

Why isn't Delta making an effort to lure Israeli passengers away from the competition?

The second quote is a good example of how I plan to recap these multi-part, lengthy questions.

Is this going to be OK?

In many cases the person asking the question will be in the audience and can expand upon and add background the shortened question.

If anybody has any other suggestions, pls holler.

I would lengthen it by one sentence: No targeted offers are ever sent to Israeli SkyMiles members. Why is Delta not making an attempt to lure them away from the competition?

That works. Thanks.

If anybody reading this going forward can also boil down their questions to a sentence or two, it would be a big help.

This thread will also remain visible up to and during the DO so that interested Delta personnel can get a more detailed background to the questions.

First of all, I'd like to thank my fellow FTers for posting some very thoughtful and relevant questions here. Most of my big issues/questions have been covered....except one that is more question than gripe/complaint:

Most of us here have spent countless hours witnessing the operations of Delta while waiting at the gate, etc. Those observations, coupled with time to kill, can result in ideas on how DL could do some specific operations faster/cheaper/more efficiently/more productively. How can objective outsiders like many of us here share those operational observations and ideas with DL in a way that they actually reach the departments or individuals that could benefit from them?

(Note that I am not advocating a general "suggestions box" or general website e-mail, nor am I referring to Medallion issues. I am talking about purely operational observations and ideas.)

Also, are the "Have one on us" coupons if you have not been upgraded random now?

+1 Last flight both Mrs. Italy and I were in C w/no UG and no drink or other type of coupon offered when printing BPs.

Is it true you will send an int'l flight out with empty seats in J and M+ fare customers in the back as z space was never opened?

e.g. EZE - ATL, 6 Sep. At least four empty BE seats.

Here's one that has been bugging me for a long time...

For 25-35% of my flts, when I check my itins I see... "There has been a change affecting one or more of your flights. Your itinerary has been updated."

I understand there are many reasons for this, eg, flt number change, atc issues, flt time changes, aircraft changes, etc. What bothers me is the only way I know there is a change is when I check my itineraries.

Question to Delta: Would it really be so difficult to send an email to a passenger when you identify a change affecting our flights? You have this information already so where is the harm in letting us know as soon as there is a change rather than us finding out about it only if we happen to be checking our itineraries?

Related: It would be a big help if DL would identify exactly what changed. There are times I have to dig deep to discover the change so I can only imagine how clueless a non-frequent flier would be trying to figure out what changed.

+1 I received notification for only one of all my itins this year that had changes.

I've received two or three on this trip alone.

We probably need to find why this is so hit and miss.

Yes.

2 questions - 1.) Why can DL not make associating a second pax easier than having to always enter the name and SM account #s? When making reservations for Mrs. Italy and myself I am constantly prompted to enter her information. Once I select 2 for the number of pax I would like to see a prompt asking if the second pax is Mrs. Italy and automatically populate the requisite fields if I do select Mrs. Italy as the second pax.

2. Why is our email being dropped sporadically by the DL IT systems? When we log in we will be greeted with a message that our email address is missing, however, checking our profile the correct email address is displayed.

Closing session question - When will Woodford Reserve be returned to the SC?
