Confusion at DTW, shocking!

Pre-Boarding: Elderly, people needing extra time to board, families with small children

PREM = First Class

Zone 1 = DM, PM and GM also SKy Team elite plus

Zone 2 = SM, SkyTeam Elite

I have seen GA's board pax in Exit Rows alongwith Zone 1 (mostly) and sometimes with Zone 2.

Zone 3 = General Non Status members

In my time as an SM, when not upgraded, I've always been in zone 2. All but once since SP was implemented, FC was boarded first (PREM), then SP (Zone 1), and so on. That one time, the GA boarded FC with all the SP. That was a mess and if I had been FC on that flight, I would have been hacked off. But that was awhile ago, so it seems like they have that sorted out.

How do I get them to do this in OKC? When I am on a BE ticket, I need to get on th RJ to make sure my gear makes the trip with me but have not seen PREM put before Z1.

Edited to say I am talking about RJs with FC: RJ9, RJ7, E175.

If your flight does not have an F cabin then they will not do PREM boarding... Often on the GIDS it says "First Class" not "PREM", but it is the same thing.

What irked me a little on my last flight is that DL for some reason started boarding Zone 1 and 2 at the same time which led me to believe that I missed my boarding zone, but then later realized that if there are only a few medallions they would just board both zones at the same time.

I would print out the page from the website , approach the GA nicely and ask if this station follows the SP boarding prcedure spelled out here....
Probably 8 out of 10 times I've had PREM board first and it just makes so much more sense.

"All passengers in BusinessElite®, First, or Business Class, and all Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion® members, SkyTeam ElitePlus customers, and Alaska Airlines® MVP® Gold members, are invited to board in Zone 1 and may continue to board via our Sky Priority lane. Silver Medallion members and SkyTeam Elite customers can begin boarding in Zone 2 using the Sky Priority boarding lane when traveling in Economy Class."

Since Delta messed with the boarding a few months ago it as been horribly messed up. There is no consistency across the system. How many of you hear agents make an announcement for "PREMIER" boarding?

That's what I've heard as well. I've been taking about 6-8 flights on Delta a week lately and have not heard anything to the contrary on these flights. They call for First Class, then Zone 1.

Uh, now that you mention it, I have heard it...... none times. Notwithstanding the RJ's with no F, seems to me DL has been pretty consistent in how they board. It is just as discussed in this thread.

But if you want to hijack this thread and talk about whether all Medallions are recognized after boarding.....

I have not heard the order given in posts #3 and #11 when flying BE on an RJ with FC. In OKC, the SkyPriority lane is open to however gets in the line and I don't remember an announcement to put "prem" before elites.

It really depends on the GA. I have seen, for the most part, FC and BE clled first, but I have been on flights where FC and BE are not special and get on with the rest of Zone 1.
