Unfortunately Tyler, aside from a Tiffany gift, a spiffy silver medallion card & bag tags with 1 MM in tiny print, and complimentary FO status, 1MM doesn't give you any edge for upgrades etc. It is not a part of the equation. As a 3 MM, I certainly wish it were.

I haven't had much experience with it this year, but I was upgraded on 4 flights earlier this month. On my flight from ATL-CMH, my bags were sent to BWI, even though they were "sky-priority" tagged.
To make a long story short, I reported the bag missing about 11:30am on Saturday. The bag was delivered to my house around 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Now if my math is right, that's about 28 hrs of being missing, even though I was assured more than once that it was "out for delivery". Now for a bag that was tagged as "sky priority", that is way too long to wait for my bag, in my opinion. |

I believe I saw that thread, but this is for anything in the Sky Priority program, as they have just officially changed the boarding process effective 6/1/10. I would also love to hear about any other experiences, as far as SP check in lanes, Security lanes, or anything else that people have used recently, to see how it is being used systemwide. And as I recall, most SP threads that are more than a month old are mostly junk replies, or people complaining about "Silvers getting the middle finger" and so on.
Though to clarify, I am not saying this about your thread, but just in general about several SP threads, and nearly all other threads, more than 1-2 months old. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...y-here-89.html There are Million Miler threads, too. Rationalizations for failing to search wear thin very quickly, given that 'Browse First' and 'Use the Search Feature' are near the top of the FlyerTalk rules. http://www.flyertalk.com/help/rules.php |

With one click, one can go to the last page of posts in a 1300+ post thread that had new posts yesterday. Sufficiently recent?

Really the only benefit I've seen is that the priority tag baggage actually seems to work almost all of the time now.
Boarding process is still f-ed up with lots of GAs not calling F first. |

Unfortunately, that is what I am hearing... maybe DL will wise up, and give the Million Milers more pull as far as upgrades go, ... Any thoughts?

In PHL.... not. Bags that had standby tags were coming out way ahead of the first priority tagged bag. It makes sense as they are put on the planes at the very last minute and the last in are the first out. |
LAX - LAS flight 1611 they did FC first then Zone 1
LAS - JFK flight 322 they boarded zone 1 frist |
Anyone had a lost bag experience under SkyPriority? Were you compensated? Lost bags happen but I just had mine delayed several hours & no one offered any type of credit or voucher...and my opinion is if you hype this SP service as something above and beyond and your screw up, you need to make it right.

I have used SkyPriority many times. I think Delta finally notified employees that it's frequent fliers and first class customers are critical to the airline in its success. They have laid down new customer service rules that they are making sure all employed abide by.
What I have noticed... Priority Baggage - At medium and large size airports where delta has a large presence and does not outsource there check-in etc. the bags are the first out. I have been to one small airport lately which was outsourced and my bag did not have a difference. Boarding the Plane - As I board in First Class I now notice that every few flights the gate agent has greeted me by my last name as I board. I do not know if this is a SkyPriority customer service thing or isolated by I have noticed it in Atlanta and Detroit as well as some mid-size airports. SkyPriority lanes are just like Breezeway...Silvers are not allowed to walk on the carpet anymore unless they are upgraded. Oh well...it is just a carpet lol. Check In - Honestly, no difference in the check-in. It is the same as it was when they had the Medallion/First Class check-in line. The small thing I have noticed is that they do not forget to put on the SkyPriority yellow tags. You used to have to wait and watch for them to put it on when it was just Priority. On the Plane - Same first class. Nothing different. Faster Security - Self Explanatory. Same as it was before it was called SkyPriority. I have noticed that at most SkyPriority security check-points it is not a Delta Agent checking tickets however it is an airport employee. Need Help Centers - Distressed ticket counters throughout the terminal now have SkyPriority signs. This is a great feature! I have thankfully not needed to use the counters but it will save a lot of time. I recommend if you get stuck pulling out your laptop and changing your ticket or calling the medallion line. I once was stuck in a medium sized airport non-delta hub due to cancelled flights. The line at the gate was very long...called Delta they put me on the next flight to fit my schedule and told me to go to another Delta gate and tell them to transfer my bags. |
