As a current United GS and Delta Diamond I find that Delta compares favorably to GS, which isn't what it used to be. Not once has United had an agent waiting for me in the jet way to escort me to my ride to the next gate in order to make a connection. Without this I would have missed my daughters birthday.

Now I let people who aren't United GS or Delta Diamonds continue to debate this.

8. If this is your first night at flight club, you have to fly.
Hilarious!

People, you got it all wrong

FC doesn't mean Flight Club
FC doens't mean Flying Colonel

FC = Flying Chicken

Now, FO, that's another matter. FO = Flying Orchid.

just wanted to bump this thread..
i was sitting here being curious as to whether or not DL has anything similar to concierge key or GS? any new info on this from you experts? had a friend of a friend that was GS and said that he was always upgraded on INTL routes... (dont know if thats true)

If DL did offer it what benefits would it include?

How about... Access to an award calendar that works

No, DL's highest tier is DM. As mentioned previously in this thread, prior to DM there was EP.

Exactly, and don't forget NW's seven levels of Platinum. However, I guess it's OK to talk about the old NW phantom upgrade program (RIP).

The only tangible difference between GS and Diamond are the same program differences that Mileage Plus and Medallion already have. GS is watered down nowadays. If Delta rolls out the concierge program for international arrivals at all their airports that would be a significant advantage to the Diamond program. As far as upgrades go, I've never missed on either, but Delta has far more FC seats available than United. I would assume that there are more Diamonds than GS members but this will probably change when One Pass is merged. From what I understand GS is going to be a published level next year. IRROPS recovery are equal.

I think the airlines are making a huge mistake by not recognizing their high CSM customers similar to the way Continental does with their $30,000 spenders.

$30,000 is not a high spend. Its hilarious when FlyerTalk members brag about spending $10 - $30K.

We can spend $30K in one month. Thats why we have our own rep who we can contact when we need something changed or done.

With our coporate discount, a r/t nonstop Business First, EWR/HKG is only $5000.

NYC - NY/NJ/CT is a hotly contested market because this is where a large percentage of the big spenders reside.
