I usually go for row 3 or 4... I've seen sched changes that included equip changes that went from a 757 to 737 and I was in row 4 so didn't get booted.

This post made me switch our 5A, 5B seats to 3A, 3B for the ATL-PVR 757 run. For some odd reason I don't like the left side of the plane, but it beats the chance of getting bumped back!

I don't like the odd rows myself, but this have reminded me of a question I've wanted to ask for a while. The overhead bins on the that side of the forward cabin of the MDs appear to have a bit more room height-wise. Is that just an illusion?

I always try to pick seat numbers that keep me where it's a valid seat on any configuration. So if I'm on a 757 I book like I'm on a M88. I've seen crazy stuff happen and it's paid off for me several times.

I read in this thread that FAMs "almost always" take 2B. If that's true, 2B could be risky.

I'll take my chances as well that they don't send a 4 row BE version in its place. We've been on these planes dozens of times over the last few years and it hasn't happened yet.

Also an issue in coach
Never take a 757 seat in row 13, 14 or 15 looks good on paper, but they disappear if the equipment changes to any other configuration.
By the way had this happen once as well and slid in in row 4 never have been higher than row 4 again in a 757, it made for quite a boarding.
Thanks for reminding me onetime something did go my way with an airline, huh!
