Delta system problems continue
1. Have qualified to renew my platinum status for 2010 but Delta sends me a Silver Medallion "1MM" mile card this week. Have I been demoted?
2. I make reservations through my required corporate connection, with FF# included in booking information, but the flight never shows up automatically on the airline site. I have to go in and manually add my flight every time using the confirmation number.
3. I have to manually enter the same contact information every time.
4. Sometimes I even have to reenter my "skymiles" number.
5. If I don't get my boarding pass printed out at work and get to the airport, half the time the systems won't find my reservation using either my Delta or legacy NW numbers, and I have to see a desk agent to get one printed.
6. What the heck is a "medallion" besides a number on a NYC taxi, and why should I feel good about it? A meaningless term, honestly.
The NWA system worked so smoothly - when is Delta going to get its systems functioning?
I will say that the staff seem happier since the merger.

Point #1 is just DL sending out their "Million Miler" credentials to NW flyers. You'll notice the Silver Card has no expiration date on it. This is your "complementary Silver Elite" perk that DL gives out to members with 1MM BIS (or is it MQM with DL?).

2. It is best to continue to use the website of the airline that is flying your itinerary because while the airline will soon be merged, some systems have not. You should NOT be using your WP number but your SM number as mentioned in numerous posts.
3. Same as above
4. Just typed
5. In seperate points
6. Once you hit 100MM Delta gives you a Medallion similar to the Nobel Prize (harder to acheive as it must be earned and not a sign of your potential promise.) It goes back to the days of the Ancient Greeks when Delta was providing flight services to the gods.
The DL system worked smoothly too before NW came into the fold. That's what happens with mergers. Remember, the SkyMiles system's backbone is NW's legacy system, not Delta.

That's questionable. The numerous issues with promotions posting correctly led a lot to be desired with the old SM system, hence why the far more agile, accurate, and detailed NWA system was put into place. Had Delta had an adequate IT infrastructure , there would've been no need to even think about using the NWA system or deal with the headaches of the merger.

OP - double check spelling of name or middle name on the corporate travel agency site versus dl.com - they need to match. I do all of my booking through Amex travel - our corporate mandated agency and have no problem, all of my booking appear on dl.com just fine with my SM#. Does your corporate agency have your WP# or SM# for NW and DL? Seems like many people have better success when using their SM# exclusively.
Yes they are using NW's loyalty system but dl.com has a connector into that database that is known to be unstable at the moment. The former DL loyalty engine worked fine for me for years. Now if I want accurate info I need to login into nwa.com using my SM#.
Soon enough the systems will play nicer together.
