AF Glitch

I called Delta and they cannot book any AF flights. I logged on to airfrance.us and tried to find the flights myself and it states their flight award search is down and will be back soon. Looks like AF is holding up the process for Delta.

Not great for me, I had a great flight to Europe and back with one short segment on AF. Now, unless AF fixes it, I will lose my reservation hold and be stuck with a search at flights twice the miles.

This has been going on for awhile now and I hope we can book AF online again soon!

I am going through the same problem right now. At least one agent recognized that there was a problem, the rest just tells me "we're sorry, but the last seat just sold out"

From what I have noticed, the award calendar says the truth about low level award availability, but delta.com is too dumb to find it. In that case, if you are flying DL metal, you can use the Alaska air website. With this website, I have found the following flights that do price at 100k on delta.com:

Delta 132
ATL 12:30 pm Tue, Apr 16
JFK 2:56 pm Tue, Apr 16
Coach

Delta 160
JFK 5:00 pm Tue, Apr 16
MXP 7:30 am Wed, Apr 17
Business

Delta 75
MXP 9:50 am Fri, May 3
ATL 2:30 pm Fri, May 3
Business

There is also the option to take the 7:45 am flight out of ATL for an increased connection time in JFK.

Do you need an AS account to search for awards?

No, but Alaska Mileage Plan can show some award routings with stopovers that wouldn't be permitted under Delta award rules. Using AS to search for DL-metal (or AA-metal) awards also means searching date by date: flexible date search is for AS-metal only.

OK, so I'm trying to put together this routing:

5/25/13 SFO to VRN
6/9/13 TRN to SFO

So I do the one-way search and see flights from SFO to CDG, through LAX. This is the flight that I took this past May to arrive in FLR. In particular, it would be AF65 for the LAX-CDG segment.

Search for CDG-VRN and dl.com returns nothing. So I call in and the agent can't find any 100k award.

Ugh, I can't wait to get rid of these miles.

Hmm, AF only goes out to 5/21/13 for award search as of today.

Have you tried searching by schedule on DL.dumb? I can find CDG-VRN via that method. Admittedly, only economy comes up when airfrance.us reports biz inventory, but for that short of flight, it doesn't really matter.

And yes, the FB engine only searches 10 months out even though AF/KL have inventory to 330 days out. You need ExpertFlyer to search that last bit.

Yes searched CDG-VRN on 5/26/13, one way search. Tried both price and schedule.

"Flighs for the cities and/or dates you selected are not offered or available."

That's 'cause there's no award inventory on that date, according to ExpertFlyer. Even a good award booking engine won't find inventory that doesn't exist.

Are there any current issues with KLM space? I'm seeing the KLM space on Expertflyer but am getting that the flights "have just sold out" on Delta.com

KLM has been using married segment availability for awards for some time. What's your proposed routing by operating carrier?

What does this mean...?

I'm just looking at a simple AMS-YYZ. eg. April 18 2013 shows O3 but DL tells me it just sold out.

If it's a single segment, it's not a married segment problem. It could be a point of sale problem. See post #1141 in this thread.

I can grab AF seats and KL intra-Europe seats...doesn't seem to be related to the issue in post #1141?
