Was that a frontline CSR or someone who actually might know something? I've been told so many falsehoods by US Bank frontline CSRs that trusting them is a dubious proposition at best.

Heads Up US Bank Flexperks Users

Just an alert that I have found records corruption in the US Bank system. The area seems to involve address fields used for account verification. The corruption both blocked the processing of a credit card purchase and the redemption of Flexperks on Friday. The corruption does not appear to be just isolated to my account. On the user side you do not see it when your address is displayed. It may be coming in from a bad middleware translation or mismapped fields from a recent system conversion.

If you are trying to redeem Flexperks or make any large purchases with a Flexperks card (say for the Christmas season points bonus) and you experience issues, please PM.

Just combined all points from my account with my wife's account.

Put the request in last week,

Next 2 months charge $1250 and get 2,000 extra points.

Just to be clear -- you still can't transfer points to a generic FlexPoints number. However, what you CAN still do is set up a household account, which basically means you pool your points and all associated cards go into the same pot. Just did the same thing with my wife's card. Not as good as the full transfer capability, but works for effectively transferring between spouses.

Has anyone had trouble getting this card without freezing IAD/ARS the way people do for the Club Carlson cards? Thanks!

Yes. Just bite the bullet and freeze them, people have not encountered any downsides from doing so.

Mileage Credit for FlexPerks Trips?

Just to confirm that FlexPerks airline redemptions always earn redeemable, elite qualifying, and COS bonus miles in any airline FF program if booked in the appropriate fare bucket?

Thanks.....

It's identical to a cash ticket. All you're doing is giving US Bank your points, and they buy the cash ticket in your name.

Except possibly with Delta. There are rules about "unpublished" fares and I have seen the portal offer fares that aren't listed in KVS's published fares list.

I've always been able to find a routing with fares that were definitely published, so I haven't tested the situation, and no one else has reported any trouble.

Really very disappointed with these folks. I had not redeemed my points from the Olympic promotion so I had to keep it for a second year, then finally used them on a ticket recently. Because I had not used it enough to get a second ticket free, I had to pay for that and bought it at the same time as I was getting the free one. Given that their rules say you get double points on air, I figured I'd get double points, which is as good as I'd do with any other card I have. Well, it turns out I did not get double points and when I wrote to them to complain, I got the following reply:

We received your inquiry regarding the rewards for your account, William,
and we can certainly understand your concern. The double rewards are
earned on the category which has the most spending during the billing
period and the totals for the categories are determined based on how the
merchant categorizes each transaction. Our records show that the $385.80
transaction is categorized under Travel Agencies and Tour Operators.
Therefore, the transaction does not earn double miles as an airline
purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

This is really quite disappointing! I likely could have gotten some additional money back buying the second ticket from Orbitz or the like and going thru a referral site, so it actually cost me money to buy from them but I figured it would be easier. Now to find out that I didn't even get the double points that I really should have is the kicker. And note that while they say that they understand my concern, they did not offer to make the concession of offering me the extra points. And the transaction clearly showed "air" in the title.

Anyway, I figured I'd post here to warn others not to make the same mistake.

good to know, i also had a issue with cs by msg. One of their 3500 bonus had a cut off of the 30th and my transaction did not post until the 3rd or so because it was a holiday weekend. They refused to budge and give me the bonus even though the transaction date was like the 28th or so.
They keep raising my credit limit but I am fed up with them.
That card got cut up...

I got to thinking that if I went thru Orbitz I might have had the same problem with the charge showing up as a travel agency, but then I realized that when I've purchased tickets from them in the past, the charge actually showed up from the airline. So it's really THEIR agency that is causing this problem, making it even worse than I originally thought.
