One thing for sure, this confirms my suspicion that the spending requirements on these promotions are based upon how much you already spend on the card. I also have the business version of the card, and was offered 2,000 Flexpoints for spending the much smaller amount of $1250.

my offer was 2500 points for $2000 spend (low spend card). family member received an email with no offer (barely used card) :O

Churnable?
How churnable are US Bank cards? I just spent the remainder of the 60K points I accumulated from the Olympic promo, NM promo, and opening up a biz card. I just closed my personal card and I'm greedily thinking of applying for it again.

Infinitely, at least as of two summers ago. I got the card in March/April or so with 17.5k, then got another during the Olympics for 33k. Had both open until my first annual fee was gonna hit, then did a PC to Cash+ (no annual fee). I might get another in January if they run a Winter Olympics promotion

what a underwhelming promotion, a whole $70 max value for spending near $10K -- a whole 0.74% bonus!

If I am reading the award chart correctly its 20K per ticket up to $400. So if I wanted to fly my family of four domestically and found 4 tix for 299 each, ($1,196) total it would be 80K flex points, not 60K?
Skimming the thread, it looks like a possible work around may be with the airlines themselves - e.g. find 3 $400 SWA tix, then use their refund policy to cancel for credit and re-book 4 $300 tix myself? |

I don't know if you can book SWA but the 4x300 wouldn't work.

Data point for people who have both the personal and business cards: I converted my personal card into a no-fee cash + cc to avoid the annual fee. I kept my business card open. I had 238 points left between the two accounts... when I converted, that turned into a $2.38 credit on the cash+ account and brought my FlexPerks balance down to 0. I don't care either way, I redeemed all my FlexPerks points for tickets before I cancelled. Seems like it's a good idea to use up everything before closing or converting an account - even if you have a business account.

According to the FAQ, here's where it should be:
"You can quickly and easily transfer your FlexPoints to other FlexPerks Accounts. Whether you are transferring to a family member, friend or another FlexPerks Account you own, just follow the easy steps under the Point Transfer option on the left hand side of the Account Summary page within the FlexPerks Rewards Center." But I am also not seeing this option this morning... I know transfers were possible as recently as September 16th when I borrowed a few flexpoints from a friend to book a flight. But this morning, as I try to repay him, I don't see the option anywhere either. Man I really hope they didn't take away the free points transfer - I think it's one of the most compelling features of this card! yesterday I called US Bank to ask about this inability to transfer points, the apologetic explanation I got from the CSR boils down to this: • they are still working thorugh technical difficulties during the transition of the rewards program from an external company to US bank • no one (not a customer, not a CSR) currently has the ability to transfer flexpoints between accounts The rep was unsure if the transfer option would return or not. ("hopefully, but we just don't know...") |
Transfer option has been gone for over a month now and no one seems to know if or when it will return.

i had to cancel some hotel bookings and am wondering if they consider returns in determining spend eligibility .. any one been through this before?

Hotel cancellations
Has anybody tried to cancel hotel reservation booked with Flexperks points?
I called today to cancel and they told me it's going to be $25 cancellation fee. I asked how many points I will get back and nobody could give me an answer. Flexperks sent me to Travelocity, Travelocity sent me back to Flexperks. After talking several times to each other I understood that nobody knows how many points I will get back so I am hesitant to cancel. Overall I am very disappointed with customer service. |
