FF Miles CC

Hi all,

First post here. Reveiwed the site, and loved the articles and posts for earning miles. I currently have a Delta-Amex card + Continental visa card.

I fly frequently to Europe and the middle east using Delta or their partners. Since my dates are flexible and I book in advance, I usually get the reward tickets I want on the dates I want. I used to fly with Continental a lot before, but not anymore. I have relocated to Atlanta where Delta operates, so I do not really need to Continental card anymore.

The problem is with the Continental visa. Dates are always blocked and if I want to use their miles on Delta flights it is almost impossible. Not enough award seats.

Another problem is that not all US businesses accept Amex. Some require Visa or Mastercard, so my Delta Amex is not accepted everywhere.

I charge all of my business and personal expenses to the Amex (phone, grocesseirs, internet etc.).

I am looking for a one CC solution, preferably Visa or Mastercard so it is accepted anywhere, that will give me miles on any airline so I do not have to limit myself only to Delta. I heard about Capital One card that gives you 1:1 ratio on every airline with no blackout dates, but the small prints do limit the price of the tickets.

In any case, if someone has a good advice or recommendation, I will be happy to hear it.

I have two different CitiBank cards that both earn points toward their "Thank You Network" ... I'm not limited to redeeming for miles but may if I want to. I really like the flexibility of the program and it's return is much better than Capital One.

You can also earn points for a variety of other things, including online checking, direct deposit, etc.

I understand from your post that you have an account (or more than one) with Citibank. Correct?

Do they have any annual fees?

I have the DL Amex, CO MC and UA Visa. (I know I'm paying 3 fees! I may eliminate the MC, as it is a duplicate esentially.)

All of my "double mileage" charges (supermarkets, gas, wireless phone, etc...) go on my Amex. Whenever they have an "everything double" bonus offer (which is very often these days! ), I again use the Amex. For everything else, I either use the VI or MC, or when Amex is not accepted.

With DL or CO, I can use any airline in Sky Team. With UA, I can use any *A airline. So I am (and you are) not just limited to 1 airline.

The DIamond Preferred MC does not have an annual fee but earns Thank You Points. If you then get other types of banking accounts (checking, etc) with Citi you may also earn Thank You points on them but they are not required to have the MC

If you use the Premier pass card, you get points for purchasing the ticket, points for each mile flown (for you and your companions if you purchased their tickets on your card), plus you can also get frequent flyer miles from the airline.
