Mine is 5x on Amazon and phone/internet.
Based on the Reddit thread, there are three possibilities. Two are above and third (as mentioned here) is food delivery. I already charge restaurants here so I guess they nixed me from food delivery. But I don't see moving the two categories I can get from other cards, so no help for me here. But I'm glad they're continuing with promos! |
5:31pm email "Extra Bilt Points, just for you" no categories
6:46pm email "Wow, this is embarrassing" Travel and Restaurant are my biggest spend so I wonder if I will get anything. Amazon I have the 5% back from their card for years, might change but would need to figure out what points I need and where. |
Bilt Headquarters, MidJune 2023
Oh ...., we sent emails to everyone, even those using their cards who we didn't intend to target. Hmmm. We have to do something now, or they will figure it out. What's the least we can offer. "We’re following up on the email you received on 6/14/23 by mistake; this time it’s for real. For the next 60 days, earn 5X Bilt Points when you use your Bilt Mastercard® on: Spotify® Netflix® Hulu® Earn 5X Bilt Points on these select streaming services from June 16, 2023 to August 15, 2023." |
Interestingly I didn't get ANY of these emails..no offer.for.me? Mhmm.
Edit: if I log into the app it shows food delivery and Amazon. Neat. |

I got the non-offer and apology but have yet to receive any real offer.
|
This 5x bonus offer for the first five days, when does that usually pop up? I had applied for the card in late may, received it in the mail in early June, but was out of town, and only activated it yesterday.
At no point so far have I received any communication from Bilt regarding any spending bonus.. |
It usually comes by email, and I think it's tied to the delivery confirmation of the card envelope.
That said, there was a report on Reddit that not everyone gets the offer anymore. |

My mom received the 5x on food delivery email a few days ago. Then the oops embarrassing email the next day. Haven't received the real 5x email, and nothing on the apps showing 5x (except for the std 5x on Bilt dining and 10x on Soul cycle)
|
I got an email offering 5X in all 3 categories (Amazon, food delivery, cell/Internet service). And indeed, all three show up in the app. Unfortunately, only Amazon is of any real value to me out of those three. Cell phone service for the whole family is only about $25 total per month, so not much upside there. And my internet service is bundled with cable, which presumably won't count.
|
Mom got the 5x email today for food delivery and streaming (Spotify, Netflix and Hulu). Not visible in app. Offer is for 60 days til 8/23.

notice today, you can now earn points on up to 100k of rent payments per year up from the current 50k :tu:
We raised the maximum number of points you can earn on rent from 50k per calendar year to 100k, effective immediately. Another weak Rent Day offering, I'd say. Maybe something great is coming up on the calendar, but it's becoming a pattern...
|
July rewards is Lyft credit ($10 for Bilt members, $20 for members with Mastercard).
There's a puzzle for a chance to win up to $2,500 in rent. |

There's a puzzle for a chance to win up to $2,500 in rent. It's also just 20 Lyft bucks - I think you don't actually need to use the Bilt card to pay for these rides. |

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered in the thread - since Bilt seems to mail a check or allow ACH transfers, can that be sent to anyone? Do they allow for payments of that manner for non-rent expenses?
|
For those who use this to pay rent, can someone shed light on what is it that Bilt requires to set up the rent payment ? Do we need to upload a lease agreement or get some statement from the landlord ? I own my house (well the bank owns it :p ) but i've got a kid in college and living with a few friends in a house they have rented (from the parent of one of the friend). what sort of documentation is needed to have bilt send out a check every month for the rent ?

No travel extra points for Hotwire
Just wanted to share - if you want to pay for purchases at Hotwire with Bilt Mastercard, then your transactions won't be considered as "Travel". You will NOT get extra points as you might have expected. I reached out to their support team. They said it has to be only direct sales through hotels or airlines, not through a middleman. I feel this is unfair, but oh well...
|
Has anyone experienced issues with setting up recurring monthly charges on the 1st of the month? Whenever I try to do that, I have gotten errors or declines on a number of sites. For one time purchases or setting up recurring transactions on other days, I haven't seemed to have issues.
|
Unfair perhaps, but also explicitly made clear in their T&C that online booking agencies are not included in the travel bonus spend category:
Two points (1 base point plus 1 bonus point) are earned per $1 spent on qualifying net purchases made directly at retailers whose Merchant code for Mastercard is classified as Travel: airlines, hotels, motels, resorts, cruise lines, and car rental agencies (bus lines, passenger railways/trains, taxicabs and limousines, rideshares, ferries, timeshares, travel agencies, online travel sites, real estate agents, vacation rental platforms (e.g. VRBO, Airbnb), campgrounds, boat lease/rental, motor home/recreational vehicle rental, toll bridges and highways, parking lots, and garages are not included).

So the travel category is one place where this card seriously falls short of the Chase Sapphire Reserve - which gives 3x in the category and is very complete, including most of those exclusions.

They aren't the only ones with a restricted travel category. If I'm not mistaken, Amex Green and CSR are comprehensive, while Citi Premier is just flights, hotels, and OTAs (i.e.no parking, rental cars, cruises, trains, taxi/ride share). Of course, if you book a cruise or rental car via an OTA and are charged by the OTA, you would get 3X.
|
Paying a cruise line directly on the 1st got me 4x points.
|
The idea that something like Amtrak wouldn't code as "travel" is absurd.

On the side note, I don't really understand why would they want to do that? Does it really save them that much? IMO, it drops more shade on them than helps save anything. Yet, still, the card is unbeatable since it allows me to pay rent! This is supercool, without a doubt. |

My rent payment at the end of June disappeared as pending in my points activity. I would have been OK with this if my large Bay Area rent transaction had also vanished, but unfortunately it was only the points that were missing.
I wrote in yesterday and they responded very quickly thanking me for raising the issue and noting they manually issued the points for the rent, yet to appear but they said it could be 24-48h. Just posting so people are aware they seem to have some issues with the resilience of tracking points for spend so be vigilant in making sure you're given points for all your spend. Never seen anything like this at another bank. I wonder if they have bugs due to transactions not always mapping to points activity due to their 5 transactions requirement. |
Few questions.
1. Can I refer myself? 2. Did anybody try to use Curve and redirect all charges from other cards to this on rent day? |

I’m considering an application for Bilt Mastercard. Would be only to “pointsetize” or “milesetize” (get point or miles for) my monthly condominium common charge payments. Hesitant due to unknown application result and unknow if condo chares will be treated as rent and determining 5/24 effects and ramifications. Extensive history with Chase/AmEx/BOA credit card applications (and recon calls usually to reallocate credit limits), not so much for other issuers. I’ve reviewed this thread to garner as much information as I can
I can easily foresee application being denied for several reasons (too many open accounts ~16-18, to many recent inquires 0/5/9 for the 3 major agencies, too much existing credit). Unsure if my condo payments would be like rent, for my checking account from which the managing agent automatically processes an ACH transfer each month, the transactions appear as “Transaction Description: AbcdeStone Condo Rent, Original Description: AbcdeStone Condo Rent, Category: Mortgage & Rent, Transaction Type: EFT, Additional Details: ACH Withdrawal.” Every time I see “AbcdeStone Condo Rent” I think about applying for this card. Would appreciate comments regarding (but not limited to ;)): - Probability of application approval? - Bilt recon procedures? - Is it effectively a personal card for Chase 5/24 and credit reporting agency purposes? - Probability of my condo payments being appropriately processed by Bilt … month after month? - Probability of earning 1x OR 2x for aforementioned condo payments? - Anything else I should be asking about. Thank you. |

Thank you. The Bilt card isn't issued by Chase, so not sure why you're worried there. It's issued by Wells Fargo. |

Thus also my question “Is it effectively a personal card for Chase 5/24 and credit reporting agency purposes?” Thanks again. |

Thank you. My concern regarding Chase is that Bilt would be one of my 5/24 (thereby affecting all future possible Chase applications) and since I’m usually at 4/24 I should plan all applications very carefully.
Thus also my question “Is it effectively a personal card for Chase 5/24 and credit reporting agency purposes?” Thanks again. |
