It is apparently the only new account bonus, but it is not offered to all new cardholders. One way to know in advance if you will receive the bonus offer is to enroll in Bilt Rewards without their credit card. Earn some points, and wait for a credit card offer to appear in the smartphone app.

The Wiki, which was just edited, might be of interest to you.

Bilt MC is shipped via trackable no-signature-required First Class mail in a small (4.5” x 6.5”) white box with unique packaging inside as pictured at the bottom of this post. As of Feb 2024 no reports of expedited shipping.

Reports on this thread starting in late November 2023 indicate this "quasi-SUB" may be offered randomly and/or only to some people, selection criteria unknown. This post may be the only report of being offered the quasi-SUB prior to Bilt Mastercard application, based on existing Bilt Rewards account. Bilt's “quasi-SUB" is offered via an email and a text message notification the same day as card receipt informing of 5x/5 days/max 50K (email quoted verbatim in this post). (Quasi* due to very short duration in contrast to many traditional SUBs of 3 month duration.) Please note this quasi-SUB maxs out at $12,500 (not $10,000) and tax payments will count. No reports yet of returns and their effect on quasi-SUB. (* “quasi-“ a combining form meaning “resembling,” “having some, but not all of the features of,” used in the formation of compound words: quasi-definition; quasi-monopoly; quasi-official; quasi-scientific.)…

They're currently doing a "playoff bracket" for what the March 1st rent day bonus should be, and it looks like it's down to 1000 points for linking a cc (!! free points!) or 5X points on Groceries (on rent day).

Hope the CC points win because it's EASY free points

I am having the same issue as described in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/biltrewards...aying_it_isnt/ Anybody had the same issue?

I have confirmed it three times, and also received the email for 3 times, however the app seems to have some glitch and keep asking me to confirm, so I could not even view my renter award account number.

I have online chatted, but the agent did not help anything! Any suggestions?

Another problem is I heard new client should have 5X points promotion for the first 5 days, and people should receive notification when the card shipped. However I haven't received any txt message and email about it. The agent told me it's not for all clients, they were randomly targeted.. That's such a bummer.

The polls are open for another seven hours or so. Vote early, vote often :)

The implication of the Bilt Rewards screenshot (snip) below is that one can earn Bilt points for Lyft rides that paid for with a linked credit card, regardless of linking Bilt and Lyft accounts. In other words, with (for example) Hilton (2-3x) as the linked loyalty account in the Lyft app and a Chase card (5x until 3/25) as the default Lyft payment method, this screen shot implies that one can ALSO earn Bilt points for Lyft rides by linking the Chase card to the Bilt account.

I’m pretty sure that a triple dip like this would be well discussed here and on some of the blogs yet I haven't seen that so I think I’m missing something. Please advise. Thank you.

Winning Offer – Earn 1,000 Bilt Points when you link a card to your Bilt account

Bilt Members will earn one thousand (1,000) rewards points when you add an eligible Visa®, Mastercard®, or American Express® card to the Cards tab of the Bilt app on March 1, 2024 from 12am ET through 11:59pm PT, up to a maximum of two thousand (2,000) rewards points. An eligible card is one that has not been previously linked to your Bilt Rewards account or any Bilt Rewards account. For the avoidance of doubt, you will not earn rewards points through this offer for linking any card that has been previously linked to a Bilt Rewards account. It may take up to five (5) days for the rewards points to post to your account and be eligible to spend. Limited time offer while supplies last. Bilt reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify this offer, or any part of it, at its sole discretion.

Not bad - 2,000 points for everyone - just gotta let them see what else you're charging.

Any problems expected with deleting a card shortly after the points (for linking) post? Any T&C which specify “linked card must remain open and linked for 1 year, for 6 months, in perpetuity” ;)?

I really don't know, but I can round up four cards (inc. P2) that I basically never use that I can add - no problem there.

I’ll see your four cards and raise you a NLL Biz Plat and a NLL Biz Gold both of which haven’t been used since SUBs a year ago and both of which will (undoubtedly) be closed in month due to current pathetic retention offers ;).

Scotttyd Mar 1, 2024 7:37 am

Just got approved for this card - When does the email (assuming I get it- I know not guaranteed) go out about the 5x bonus points for the first 5 days? Is it when we get the physical and activate it? I was able to download the card into apply pay, so could use it now. I have a few bigger purchases coming up and I have the card number, but wanted to make sure I time it right if I get the offer.

I have seen speculation that they track the card shipment and send the email (if targeted) on delivery day.

Finally some use for the mothball fleet :)

I got my 2k. My P2 only got 1K so far. Not sure why.

I like that Bilt put the Points Activity option under the top right menu (they ALWAYS move stuff around and I'm getting really sick of it) but the strange part is that on the resulting page, they don't show you how many points you have, total.

And then if you tap View All - still no total.

There’s more than 5 (possible) questions, each person gets 5 of ~17 questions. AFAICT Reddit thread “Point Quest - March 2024” includes all questions.

Read the link 2-3 times over 3-5 minutes, maybe keep it open on a different device, do the quiz, 250 quick easy points.

I am brand new to bilt, I have app pulled up but can't find this? how do you vote and/or link the cards?

edit- I think I figured out how to link cards the "normal" way- wasn;'t sure if something special for this promotion

Technically its not a triple dip, you only get the bonus points from Lyft, not the base points.

I believe voting is finished. When it was available over the past 4-5 days, it was a tapable link on the mobile app, not sure if it could have been done on the full desktop website, some functions are not possible on the full desktop website.

Best of my knowledge the normal way is the only way. If done during the promotional period should automatically receive the additional bonus points.

Thank you. I don’t understand. The triple dip I was referring to in my example would be Hilton, Chase and Bilt. Hilton as the linked program in the Lyft app, Chase as default CC payment method in Lyft app, Bilt as having Chase CC linked to Bilt account. Thinking that one of those 3 might cease after linking the Chase CC to Bilt account.

Thank you. I was wondering about any problems due to unlinking right away, for example Bilt clawback.

Other than seeing how the card is used, what is the benefit to Bilt of linking a credit card?

Presumably Bilt gets a kickback from Bilt Dining restaurants as long as it drives customers there - regardless of which card they use to pay

dw Mar 1, 2024 7:41 pm

Ughh card compromised again today… thankfully WF blocked what was clearly a $10 “test charge” and I received a notification on my phone so I was able to open the app and lock my card and then request a replacement.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but i feel like I’ve seen more complaints about fraud on this card product than any other.

Took me trying 5 different cards because some just didn't work, but still can't say no to an easy 2k points for zero spend!

Mission not accomplished, unsure if mission is actually possible.

On March 1st I linked several credit cards, mainly for the 2K points, but also in a (hopefully not quixotic)quest for the triple dip described above. One of the cards linked was my Chase card that is my current default payment for Lyft rides. Did a Lyft airport ride on March 2. 3x Hilton points posted immediately, Chase account shows 5x points to be earned on my next statement, Bilt shows bupkis.

AFAICT, other than the Bilt points for the initial linkage, theirs no benefit to linking a credit card to my Bilt account.

My understanding is that you won't get the 2x Bilt points if you have Hilton as your preferred partner but that the spend SHOULD count towards the fast track to Bilt status. I feel like I've seen the dollar counter move up on my Fast Track when paying with the CSR(added to Bilt wallet) but I also have Bilt as my preferred partner in Lyft so no way of knowing if that is a requirement or not without doing more testing than I feel like(sorry).

Yes - pretty sure the Lyft connection is not via watching credit card charges like the dining connection, but rather linking Bilt and Lyft via their apps.

I get extra points on my Lyft rides that are charged to a card that is not linked to my Bilt account.

Thanks for the replies. Makes the implication in the screenshot I posted above (# 649) downright deceitful.

Check your rent points for March. I only received the lower default 250 points, even though rent was put on my Bilt MC, and I made at least five transactions during the billing period.

i submitted a ticket to Bilt Support and received a reply that it’s a “known issue” that they are looking into.

FYI- to get to the point where you can submit a ticket, you have to interact with the support bot which is a true exercise in frustration.

Scotttyd Mar 8, 2024 8:30 am

Hello- I got the 5x bonus for first 5 days- I tried to pay a vacation rental and it was rejected for "fee protect" I am confused. Bilt says they were not charging a fee, but they block it if the person sending the charge submits a CC fee- the vacation rental agency says they are are not charging a fee.

Also, they tell me if it is rent it won't get the 5x - which I get, but this isn't really rent, but I understand it depends on how the merchant codes it. BILT can't tell me if the charge was submitted as rent or not until they approve it. If it is rent, I will use a different card that I am working on a SUB on, any thoughts?

mia Mar 8, 2024 8:41 am

Fee Protect is a Bilt policy. It apparently does not matter if there is a fee in a specific case:

Fee Protect is described as a way to prevent you from inadvertently paying fees for paying your rent with your Bilt Mastercard. Rent payments made through the Bilt app incur no fee. However, if you attempt to use your Bilt card to pay your rent through your landlord’s website or payment portal, Bilt will automatically decline the transaction “to save you the fees” that your landlord might charge for using a credit card. In reality, this is a clever way to make sure that Bilt controls the rent transaction and has the opportunity to sell the landlord on a Bilt Reward Alliance partnership, but since payments through the app are fee-free, this won’t be a problem for most people.

A friend didn't get 2x on AirBNB for travel. I told him to chat with Bilt. They verified it. Not for vacation rentals.

Very strange. But for me, I have enough travel to justify my Chase Sapphire Reserve, so I'll make sure to stick to that for most travel, even on Rent Day.

ffI Mar 9, 2024 8:31 pm

I have capital one card I use all the time - if I link that in my Bilt profile, will I get the status on Bilt? - I don't care about double and triple dip for now

Gary Leff reports that the AA relationship with Bilt will end in June. However, there was a report on reddit earlier this week that for a brief time, AS showed up as a transfer partner, which sounded like an addition that was rolled out to the app too early. So hopefully there will be an announcement on that soon.

I wonder if AS gets added since HA is already a partner.
