Question about CC renewal dates

Is your card renewal date always the date that you were approved for the card?

In terms of annual fees and card benefit resets is that the day they happen? Thanks

As another example,, Amex generally doesn't bill the second year annual fee until at least 13+ months from the open date of the card. (This helps given that Amex penalizes people who close the card in the first 12 months, since there is no need to close the card in even the first 13 months if you simply want to close it when the second year annual fee is billed.)
