Depends where you want to go. Personally I'd do the SPG just because of their value and versatility. Good option if you want to go to Europe.

If I were in your shoes I would sign up for a card (or two) with a high spend requirement to get a fat signup bonus.

You have multiple opportunities here.
1) Sign up bonuses. You should be a card churner
2) Do you need airline status miles? There are cards that add to your miles
3) Do you need hotel status? There are cards that provide that
4) Spend bonuses. What do you spend on and are there multipliers for that spending?

Frankly, with that spend, plus personal spend, you could do all 4.

Lastly, ride the wave baby!!!!!

Will any of the $4500/week qualify for a Category Spend? If so, choose the card with maximum bonus for categories utilized.

With that kind of spend, you absolutely need transferable points. 2% cash just won' t cut it. That means UR, MR, Citi TYP or Starwood points. Look first at the partners to see what works for you. Then open a new card to get the bonus. In a year, you would earn about 234,000 SPG points, plus the 25% transfer bonus. Depending on how you spend, you could have many more UR ( depending on category bonuses). If you like MR, and you make 30 transactions a month, you can get a 50% bonus. That's 351,000 MR, without accounting for category bonuses. If Citi floats your boat, look at the Prestige.

WOW thank you all so much for the responses! Here are some more details and the answers to some questions:
  • The $4500 would not fall into a category for any credit card unfortunately
  • I did an 5 card app-o-rama 2 weeks ago, so I would prefer not to apply for a new card right now. My wife and I alternate doing AoRs every 3 months... However, I'm still open to the idea if the clear best option was a card I didn't already have
  • At this point, I don't really value airline or hotel status. We're honestly don't travel that often; we're just looking to build balances for so we can take maybe 3 short domestic trips a year and 1 longer internation trip as cheaply as possible
  • We currently put the most spend on our CSP, as we dine out a lot.

After discussing it with my wife last night, I'm thinking about using the Chase Freedom since we love UR points and don't utilize the 5% categories that much (except dining) OR the SPG...

I know you said you don't want to app to much, but I would consider either the SPG card (although AMEX acceptance is not as high as MasterCard, so depending on where you spend, that might impact your choice) or the Citi Double Cash. You'd earn $90/week or $4,680/year. No it's not the highest amount, but it can't be devalued and you can use it anywhere.

I'd argue that cash doesn't devalue, but this isn't that kind of forum

Or app 350k United miles. 230k for a business round trip to Europe for two. 120k is good for 2 domestic round trips.

For me that would be a higher value than the cash

Yes, inflation will devalue cash but not at the same potential rate as miles.

SPG Amex.
Chase has been cracking down on UR cards, and your recent AOR may prevent you from getting a new Freedom card.

with the 5K bonus per 20k transfer, you're looking at about 290K points per year transferred to almost any program you'd like (except UA).

Especially if you already have a solid collection of UR points, pick something that will diversify you into new programs (like AA and AS (and, of course hotel stays)).

You basically have four choices, 2% Cash, SPG points, United Airlines miles, or MR points. UR and Thank You Transferable points are out because those all earn at 1x and no way they beat SPG or 2% cash back.

If you want cash back:
1) Barclays Arrival Plus
2) Citi Double Cash
3) Fidelity Amex
are all pretty much the same 2%ish cash back, Barclays you have to either travel or do tricks with refundable hotel rooms or airline tickets to get the $$, Citi or Fidelity are more straightforward to redeem

If you want miles:
1) SPG - 1 SPG = 1.25 airline miles/$$ best available for AA, Alaska, some others.
2) United Club - 1.5x United Miles/$ - best for United
3) Amex Everyday Preferred - 1.5x MR points/$ if you meet the transactions per month - best for Delta.

I personally would probably dump it on a Citi Double Cash, I find I can get all the actual miles I need from signup bonuses.

Edit to add, you certainly can Product change the Citi Premiere to the Double cash (if >1 yr old, burn your Thank you pts or transfer to airline program first). You might be able to product change the Hilton, not sure.
