In what categories will the $45K be spent? Do the vendors accept mobile-wallet payments, and do you have mobile-wallet capability on your phone?

For the 45k spend I that I hope is on DIFFERENT purchases…

from my past 6 months:
Hyatt chase business (60k points for maybe $5k)
ihg chase business (60k for I think $3k)
ihg chase business (4 FN for $3k)
citi / bread ($250 cashback for $1k to $1250)

Agreed that BofA AS is a great airline sub as I even used the 90k points for 3 one way tickets sfo>ORD in saver F

and despite not using them, the DL / AA subs were decent.
airline points are trickier if you’re not using those airlines. AS seems to have a very generous mileage redemption for metropolitan airports.
I do use hotels so those points make more sense

i still would endorse HH with amex except you eschewed Amex

I am spending over $10k on vacations for next year, as I will be in the US Southeast for 2 weeks, and the Netherlands for 2.5 weeks. I plan on hitting 3 SUBs, with 2 already hit. Here is what I spend for the vacation so far:

October 2023 - Capital One Venture X, - 98k for $4k (90k SUB, 8k from $4k in non-category spend)
December 2023 - Chase Sapphire Reserve - 77k for $4k (65k SUB, 11k for business-class round-trip tickets to Netherlands booked direct, <1k on train tickets from New Orleans to Chicago w/stop in Memphis)
late January 2024 - IHG Premier - 220k for $3k (140k SUB, 80k from $3k spend toward IHG hotels)

I plan on getting two other cards - I also currently have the Chase Freedom Unlimited, and plan on getting the Chase Freedom Flex and Capital One SavorOne in 2024 as well. Both of those cards will likely not have big purchases on them, as the detailed cards above (Venture X, CSR, IHG Premier) will have the most vacation spend.

For those on Android, and possibly iPhone, you will not see the website listed below. If you go and tap on "desktop site" setting, you will see the link.

Mega tax payments due by April 15 which I may spread across two quarters given the CLs for each card. SUBs for new cards have already been completed, with the exception of Hyatt (see below)

Considering the following options:
  • Chase Hyatt = $15k to complete SUB (30k Hyatt)
  • BofA Alaska = $10k = 10k points plus 4k EQM (ROI not great but very close to MVP status)
  • Any excess can be charged on Cap1 Venture, Spark Miles, Amex Blue+ = 2 point/$1
In April could use for SUBs if I apply for BofA AS and Chase WN Biz

As was the case last time, I don't need UA, DL or B6 status, nor do I care about 75k Amex Plat waiver.
Could also use 2% cash back cards (e.g. Fidelity) but that seems pointless as it would simply offset the fees.
