I wanted to clarify.. can I sign up for $89 Barclay's World Arrival and call to match to 50K offer? I don't have any personal codes or anything.

40K Points offer
Just noticed that the Standard Offer, though for a "Limited Time," is a 40,000 points offer:

Does anyone know if purchasing an airline gift certificate would qualify as a travel charge for the purposes of redeeming the $400? Nice find gm9928, I might app for this tomorrow.

My comments: the no-fee card is the first free rewards card with no foreign transaction fees, AFAIK. I guess introduction of these cards has something to do with US-AA merger. These look like cards to replace US Airways cards after the merger (in the likely case that Barclays is no longer a credit card issuer for the merged airline). |

Not the first, Capital One already has two cards: VentureOneSM Rewards and Cash Rewards.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...l-credits.html No Capital One card assesses foreign transaction fees, and many have no annual fee. |

There must be a new affiliate link for this card.
I think it's funny how all the blogs are suddenly featuring this card, even though it's been out for several months now (granted, with an inferior sign up bonus). Plus, the return on this card isn't too different from the BofA Privileges Travel Rewards card (the one with the annual fee), which has been out for almost a year now. |
Not sure if I fully understand how to use this card:
It gives you a statement credit on purchases of travel. So if I buy a first class ticket, ie. $8000, then I would need 800,000 points for it be free. Is this logic correct? Don't know how this will be beneficial in comparison to the Sapphire, but I guess it's an alternative card. I definitely like 2x points for any purchase. Any points limits to this? |

There is no point to compare it to Sapphire, they are different beasts. |
Thanks for the clarification. That's what I thought!

This card is definitely not for taking first class flights. Use it for cheap trips in Economy where you want to earn flown miles and status.

Two months ago, I got my 2nd Barclays US Airways credit card. How long do I have wait between applications?
