Churnable cards

I currently hold BOA Hawaiian airlines, Bank of Hawaiian airlines, and BOA Virgin Atlantic credit cards since Nov 2011. Can I re-apply for these cards and get approved?

ALso, I want to reapply for US airways card. I already have the personal one.

What are your thoughts? ^

I currently hold since Nov 2011, all personal cards:
amex spg
citi hilton
amex hilton
boa virgin atlantic
bank of hawaii
boa hawaiian airlines
bbarclay us aireways

Tryign to see which cards I should apply for next since it's long overdue. ( I can't apply for Chase products due to stupid history with them about 20 years ago!)

I was thinking SPG Business, us airways again, boa alaska

Yes to all your churning questions, although as always, YMMV. Also be prepared to receive a pending decision note, so most likely you will have to call.

As to your next app-o-Rama, before applying for anything else, I would consider the new U.S. Bank Flex Perks card that gives you over $700 after meeting their $2,500 spend requirement. U.S. Bank doesn't like churners, so they'll likely like you since it's been a while since your last one.

Other than that, I would through SPG Biz in the mix, since their 30,000 offer expires on Sep 4, then try to churn the ones you mention. I personally don't like to apply for more than 5-6 cards at a time, but it's just a matter of your personal comfort level, not an exact science.

So you think I can hold these cards and reapply or should I cancel them like the hawaiian airlines then wait dew months then apply?

Not sure if you can apply for a 2nd Barclay US Air card as some have posted getting turned down for 2nd card no matter what excuses are given for the 2nd application. Think they are shutting it down as a churnable card like most of the other banks.

I applied for all three of these last week:

BOA Hawaiian airlines, Bank of Hawaiian airlines, and BOA Virgin Atlantic

After applying online I was told "we'll get back to you" on all 3. The next morning, I received a call and it turns out that BofH and BofA have some kind of affiliation and they didn't understand why I wanted all 3. I told them it was for the miles and I was moving my spending to new cards. They made me pick one of the Hawaii cards, I could not have both. Virgin was OK.

Bank of Hawaii does not issue credit cards. In common with many regional banks they long ago outsourced this function to a credit card specialist bank MBNA which used the name "FIA" for it's private label card business. MBNA was subsequently acquired by Bank of America, with the result that the FIA subsidiary of Bank of America is the issuer of cards for many other banks, brokerage companies (e.g. Fidelity) etc.

Not to hyjack here, but does anyone know the acceptable frequency of BoA applications?

I applied for both the BoA and BoH Hawaiian Air cards on 07/17 (approved for both) and now I'm wondering how long I should wait before I go after the BoA Virgin Atlantic card.

Thx!

Never tell them it's for the miles. In the very lest never tell them it's ONLY for the miles. Learn about the benefits of the card and state those benefits when you talk to the agent. If the benefits are identical like with the 2 Hawaiians tell them you want two separate cards in order to use one for business expenses.

about 4 months ago, I did receive the second US Air card on reconsideration. Had to split the credit line, though.

problem is your application was 4 months ago, several recent posts have many being turned down even when calling for reconsideration and willing to split credit line or using another card to track separate transactions.

I also got a 2nd card approved yesterday, 1st card still open, easy phone call, no need to split credit lines. So it works for some at least.

Good to know, Thanks, will give it a try in about 2 weeks.
So, may need to call more than once to get the approval.
