As an additional resource for these cards see this thread: Alaska Airlines Visa

PERSONAL CARDS
30k mile offer, $75 AF, $1k spend: https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit...s-credit-card/
+2k miles if done with onboard paper application

30k mile offer with $100 credit and fee for companion ticket waived the first year, $75 AF, $1k spend: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/app...aignid=4020594

30k mile offer with $100 credit, $75 AF, $1k spend: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/app...aignid=4009277

If you are applying for a personal Alaska card, and are not an expert on applying for Alaska cards STOP, don't apply yet.
Instead, read this post. Doing that first may save you a huge amount of wasted time and frustration.

A few people in the Alaska Airlines forum have in the past received personally targeted, single-use links for a 50k offer
when they opt-in to "Partner Offers" in their Mileage Plan account preferences.

=======================================

BUSINESS CARDS

30k mile offer, $75 AF, $1k spend, no foreign transaction fees:
https://www.bankofamerica.com/smallb...-credit-card//

Note: There are two different earning formats for the business card, which you choose when you apply:
  • $50 per company, $25 per card (Business Level Earning Plan)
    • $0 per company, $75 per card (Individual Level Earning Plan)

To avoid billing confusion later, make sure you choose the Individual Level Earning Plan if you are not going to have employee cards under the same account as your account.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Reconsideration # (for personal cards):

1-800-354-0401 (8am-7pm ET Mon-Fri) direct, referring agent from another BofA line called it their "credit department"

1-866-811-4108 from the Alaska Airlines Visa thread post 949

Business card Recon Line:
866-695-6598 (8-7 EST M-F from what I was told)

Biz card status line: 888 663 6262
Biz Card credit analyst line: 877 665 5022, 877 665 5023 (seems to be non-working number)

Check application status online here:
https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit...status-form.go

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Credit Enquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Enquiries for business cards come from FIA. Credit bureaus usually merge enquiries from the same requester made on the same day. Enquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Looking for some advice...

I have the biz card myself and received instant approval (I do have a legitimate business however). My SO applied for the biz card and she received an "under review" notice. Since she didn't have legitimate business, she did not bother with reconsideration.

She did get a letter in the mail yesterday with the following...

"We need additional information to process your request for a small business credit account.

To proceed with your request, please provide us with the following additional information:

Your complete business physical address (Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each entity which opens an account). Any of the following documents in the company's name would be acceptable: organizing documents such as articles of incorporation, articles of partnership, articles of organization or certification of incorporation."

And yes, the bolded was bolded in the letter. Interestingly though, they do give an option to submit this information by phone? I'm not sure how that would work though. If it's helpful, she included "$0" as her revenue on her application. Also worth noting that my SO received instant approval on the personal AS card (at the same time this application was filed).

Has this situation happened to anyone before? Any advice or suggestions on how to receive an approval in this scenario?

It would helpful to know how the other questions about the business were answered. Did she select that the type of business was "Sole Proprietor" or something else? Business name same as her name or something else?

I don't see why they would request those kinds of documents for sole proprietorship, since I don't how any of them apply to a sole proprietorship.

Confusingly, the BofA app puts the question about the type of business (which should always answered "Sole Proprietor" if you have no real business) toward the end of the application, after it asks some questions that don't make too much sense for a sole proprietor. (The Citi and Amex business cards I've applied for before asked that business type question much further up front IIRC and then didn't ask nearly as many questions as BofA, perhaps because they tailored the questions to the "Sole Proprietor" business type?)

Similarly, the "company name" should be answered as your name (not a fake company name!) if you have no real business. If she gave her name as the company name, I don't see why they would be asking for documents in the company name.

So are you sure she followed all these rules about how you should apply for a business card if you have no real business?

She did check sole proprietorship as the business type and I'm 99.99% sure she put her name for the business. She couldn't say 100% but she was all but sure that she had.

Well, in that case, the letter seems to make no sense at all, even if she had a real business. But how to handle it best, I'm not sure.

Fortunately for me, but unfortunately for being able to give more useful feedback, the only time I've applied so far for the BofA business Alaska card I was instantly approved, and thus no got questions at all.

how do folks here cancel their AS card (before applying for another one)? do you cancel by phone, chat, etc?

did they ask you why you want to cancel?

i have 1 AS card that is > 6 months old, and another 2 that are > 3 months old. i thought i want to cancel the older one so that i can sign-up for a new one as i have heard 3 AS card is the max you can go these days

I'm thinking we could craft a letter reiterating that it's a sole proprietorship and that the business address is our home address and send the response by email (which is one of the options) or we could call in by phone. Surely they can't expect any "documentation" over the phone. The latter though would potentially open her up to further questioning which may not go well. The former I fear though won't be satisfactory enough for them to approve.

I'd love to hear from anyone that may have had a similar experience or a better suggestion.

A lot of people here generally won't cancel a card that's only around 6 months old. Instead, they'll keep the card for 11 months, usually right around the time the AF would post.

I canceled one of my AS cards recently over chat. I said I wanted to close out the card, and they didn't ask why.

Is anyone else having trouble accessing BOA chat? Whenever I log in, during business hours and after, I keep getting the chat button greyed out with language that all chat specialists are speaking to others.

Regardless of browser type whether using incognito or otherwise, nor time of day attempted, I've not seen chat as being available for at least the last 1-2weeks.

I have 2 personal alaska air cards, one with 18 CL , the other with 8k (recently lowered it from 20k by phone when i received the card last month).

Is it best to lower CL of 18k of personal card before i apply for the Biz card ?

It seems like I still have this as a special offer to apply for biz when i log into my bank account.

Yes, the past few days I haven't been able to get chat to work on mine or my wife's account. Today it's working on my account.

EDIT: Still dead on wife's account.

Unless you need a high CL I'd suggest lowering your CLs to something like $2k each. Keep them both active with small charges before applying for any new BOA cards. You can pay down the balance before your statement posts to keep reported utilization low.

and i m thinking of applying for one in Q4

maybe i should apply for AS Biz ? not sure if the 3 AS Personal i have now would be an issue

You can always product change instead of cancelling.
