Which card(s) to target next?

in 2011 I was approved for a ton of credit cards, but now I'm looking at which to target next.

here's what I have:

venture - cancelled
delta amex - cancelled
amex plat - cancelled
amex gold rewards
citi aa visa
usair barclays
chase sapphire - keeping
chase united (not explorer, older one)
chase freedom - keeping
both Hawaiian air cards
amex Hilton - got Feb 2012
bofa virgin - got Feb 2012

I think I'm maxed out on chase, but maybe something from citi or another amex?

I have ~80k aa, 170k usair, 60k emirates (need to get rid of), 170k united, 315k Hilton, and 120k ultimate rewards.

wouldn't mind building up more Hilton, but more united would be great. Only travel plans for this year so far are a summer trip to Italy, but haven't worked any details out yet.

You've got only 3 Chase cards, so perhaps you could try for the Chase Ink Bold and offer to give up the United MileagePlus card (if it isn't one of your oldest cards).

That way you could potentially get 50K Ultimate Rewards points via Chase Ink Bold which are transferable to United and also get the United Explorer card.

The Citi Thank You Premier is great for domestic airfare up to $665 with no blackout dates.

Agree with the Ink Bold if you do something that could constitute a business. Additionally, the Amex SPG would be a good one if you don't already have it. If you can get targeted for the 50K United, that is also a good one.

Sorry to hijack this but it has been 2 months since my last application for the United Explorer. Never had a Biz card but rejected by Citi For Biz card over 6 months ago. Citi is the only Biz card I ever applied for.

Do I have a good chance to be approved for Chase Ink Bold? Just selling stuff on Ebay for Biz.

Historically, Chase is usually easier than Citi to get a biz card with. Certainly their reconsideration process is easier in the event of an initial denial. I got approved when my business was very small and very little revenue. I did have to answer many questions. If you want to see the type of questions they asked me, you can read more about it here.

The questions they asked me seem to be pretty standard and match up with other's reports as well. Good luck if you go for it. It is an awesome card!

Is it OK to ask for application advise on this thread too?

I'm new to this and applied for my first three mileage cards January 16th: AA visa, AA AMX, UA Explorer. I already have an old UA mileage card (10 years) and a regular Sapphire (5 years). Chase has been courting me - a supervisor he told me I'd have no problem getting more cards...

I would like to get on the Sapphire Preferred before the offer possibly goes down. Been told by two different reps that I would get the 50K because they consider it to be different (I asked them to note that on the call notes).

Would also like to get the Ink card - or something else you recommend?

Is it too soon to apply for two more Chase cards?

How much time should I put between Chase applications? Citi applications? Where I live and from what I've researched, so far Chase and Citi pull credit reports from different credit companies (what luck). How does that play into my application timing?

Thank you

You should be able to apply for both the SP and Ink since one is personal and one business. With Chase people have been able to get a card every month for the first 2 or 3 cards. You might have to go through the reconsideration line though. Ideally you should wait for 90 days between your applications or you could be rejected (usually by Citi) for 'Too many recent credit inquiries'

Am I able to upgrade from the older Chase United card to the United Explorer card and get the bonus miles? Or do I have to cancel my current card and apply for the other? If the latter, how long should I wait after cancelling/applying for new?

Also, with the US Air card - if I want to try for another while having mine active, do I use my FF# in the app or do I have to create a new one?
