My best card???
AMEX Business Open Gold = 100K Points after $2,000 spend in 3 mo.
Opened 2 of these. One for me, one for mom. There ... 200K Amex points in 1 month. Didn't even have to wait 6-8 weeks. Called them asked for supervisor after just 2 weeks of meeting spend.
I am just an ... for not posting that 4 digit code here when I got it 1 month ago. Forgot sorry. Will check if it still works tomorrow and if it does I'll create a new thread for that promo.

No need to worry about what 'might' be around the corner.

1. PRG amex 75k and platinum amex 100k, then 30 days later business gold 100k and busniess platinum 100k = 375k! (Me my sister, mom and dad)
2. Citi AA Visa 100k and amex 100k, then 5 months later business 100k = 300k!
Those were the best for me.

Phil, I think you're dismissing the value of this too quickly
Exhibit A - BA Chase VISA
I don't stop at hoping history will repeat itself, I expect it to improve upon itself with the trend we have seen in card bonuses the past few years. It wasn't long ago when it was a big deal to see the Citi AA card offer jump from 25k to 30k. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm expecting to see more cards going up to or over 100,000 bonus points/miles but for the majority of cards out there, I don't expect the bonuses to go down anytime soon.
I do think having a compilation such as the OP suggested could be useful, but probably unnecessary in light of the excellent thread of current offers maintained by UA Fan.

I think perhaps the best way to do this would be for OP to make a list of all credit cards, then as and when people post up the 'best' offer it can go against it.
At present we have only about 5 CC's mentioned - all the 100k offers, which I don't think was necessarily the point. Someone might be interested in taking out the BA AMEX and want to know whether 1k bonus miles is good or not historically.
Also worth bearing in mind the difference between UK/US offers vary a lot.

I got an offer today for Chase Sapphire Prefferred, 50K bonus points, $750 within 3 months. Believe or not, I have never had a Chase card. After reading this thread, wondering if I should hold out for a 100K offer or call and ask if there is one. Ideas?

As a low spender I would jump on this offer immediately, but you might have different priorities. I have 3 Chase cards and closed one recently, but I hope to apply to the Sapphire Preferred next. Not only are the 50,000 bonus points great, but I really feel as a premium card it is best in class right now. In terms of benefits and annual fee it's a way better match for me than any of Amex's cards.

Yesterday I got the Chase Sapphire Preferred offer of 100k bonus points if I spend $750 in 3 months. The $95 fee is waived for the first year. The brochure said the 100k points could be used for $1,250 in travel if I book through their ultimate rewards system.
I read through all the fine print and didn't see any clauses so wanted to double check here. Can I really get the card, spend $750 on it, get the 100k bonus points, book my travel using the points, then cancel the card before the first year is up? Meaning basically I can get $1,250 in travel for free? I realize I'll probably never get another offer from Chase ever again but I'm not really worried about that.

One more specific question. I mostly fly AA, can you book AA flights using Chase points through the ultimate rewards system? Since I don't have an account, I can't log in an check.

Whether or not the brochure mentioned it, I'm pretty sure you can transfer the 100k points to 100k miles at two or three airlines (CO/UA and BA, I think). That's enough for an intercontinental round trip in business class (especially on CO/UA, where you don't have to pay the super high "fuel surchrage" fees that you have to on BA). Or for two intercontinental round trips in coach. So surely either way you can make 100k miles give you way more value than $1250!
