- What are the most current working links?
- Is this card churnable?
- How frequently can I apply for these cards?
- Do I have to close my previous card before reapplying?
- I got the 60K card and bonus but when I finished the spend on my second 60K card I did not get the bonus. What happened?
[1] What are the most current working links?
There is a standard offer for 50K points after $1K spend in 4 months. (No landing page is available for this offer; lnik taken from wiki for http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/citi-...amex-citi.html.)
There are no known 60K offers available. The most recent one expired in late September 2014.
[2] Is this card churnable?
In the past, this card has been easily churnable. However, in December 2014 Citi began inserting language into some applications and landing pages disqualifying current Hilton Visa cardholders & requiring an 18-month wait from the date of the previous card's cancellation. The application link listed above does not include this restriction, and FTers have confirmed that they have been approved through this application despite being current or recent holders of another Citi Hilton card.
[3] How frequently can I apply for these cards?
You can only apply for ONE Citi card in a week or TWO in two months (60 days). To be safe, it is frequently suggested to wait 8+ days between ANY two Citi applications and 65+ days until your third Citi application of ANY kind. These are rolling dates, so you have to wait at least 60 days (65+) from your second application to your 4th applications, and so forth.
If math is not your strong suit, you can use: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html.
Example:
Day 0 - Citi HHonors Card #1
Day 8 - Citi AA Personal Card
Day 65 - Citi AA Business Card
Day 73 - Citi HHonors Card #2
Day 130 - Citi TY Card
[4] Do I have to close my previous card before reapplying?
Not if you use the application link above. As stated above, in December 2014 Citi began introducing new application pages requiring an 18-month wait since cancellation of the prior card.
Note that when you close an account, Citi may not "free up" the credit limit from that card for as long as 6 months. So if you're going to apply within 6 months, it's better to not cancel beforehand.
[5] I got the 60K card and bonus but when I finished the spend on my second 60K card I did not get the bonus. What happened?
There appears to be a problem with Citi crediting you with both bonuses but Hilton not crediting the second bonus because their system sees it as a duplicate.
You need to open up a case, preferably with Hilton, and explain that you have two separate cards (feel free to explain one is for business and one for personal if they ask why you have multiple cards and you feel like explaining). You also need to diligently check back with them and make sure that they do not close the case as you already got the bonus.
This is very much a YMMV situation. Depending on who you talk to and where, this can be a relatively short process or a particularly unpleasant and long one. Best advice: Be nice to the CSRs and get them on your side or HUACA until you find someone useful.
For some people it may be worth getting the 50K card instead, possibly trying to "bump the bonus" to 60K and getting it as a 10K adjustment instead.

I'd rather wait few months if applying tomorrow is goign to create issues (OR target other cards)... I was planning to apply citi AA. Assuming same rule for amex I think I'd wait few months and then apply Citi and Amex AA together. Already done 4 cards this month so time to take a break.
- Club Carlson Visa 85K
- Priority club select 80K
being the other two. thanks so much for your help and feedback. much appreciated

Sorry, yeah, no more than 2 Citi cards. You can go for cards from other banks on the same day if you credit supports it.

Why do people still want to apply citi Hilton card for 50,000 bonus points after Hilton devaluation point? I really dont get this. Before the devaluation, 50,000 bonus point is good for the highest category. However, after the devaluation, 50,000 is worthless. Citi Hilton should have an offer around 80,000 or 90,000 bonus point which equal to their highest category. I still dont get people still apply for 50,000 bonus point???? it is not worth for a hard pull on your credit report.

The devaluation just taught me that Hilton is a brand to earn points through bonuses and (maybe) spend, but not stays. All of my paid stays will go to SPG, Hyatt, Kimpton, or via Priceline.

If you don't stay in hotels except for vacation Hilton is far and away the best deal going right now
With the SPG card you get 30K points after your $5k spend. Churn 5 Citi Visa's ( same $5K spend) and that's 265K points

Cat 7's are 42.5 K a night with AXON after the point increase. As the other poster said, points are so easy to accumulate.

For $7500 spending too. I don't worry about accumulating HHonors points through actual stays anymore. I stay at a Hilton because it's convenient or the least expensive choice in the area. Points and status can be earned through cards more so with Hilton than any other program.

Now to take it a step further I can stay 5 nights at the Hilton Back Bay in Boston ( cat 7 ) using 250K HH points ( 190K Axon, 1 night 60K) whereas 2 nights at the Sheraton Boston will cost me 32K points or another $2k spend on the SPG card
I have stayed at both hotels, The Hilton is nicer
So spend $7k on the SPG card for 2 nights or spend $5K on HH visas for 5 nights and 15K leftover HH points
Even if you take AXON out of the picture and want to stay individual nights its still 4 Hilton nights ( 60K per night = 240K) or 2 Sheraton Nights at 16K each

The point is the this 50k is repeatable ("frequently" churnable), over and over and over. Please explain what other hotel program card is churnable to this degree that offers a better value at a non-devalued hotel program???

Not everyone cares what the redemption cost is at the highest cost properties in the world. Some of us only care what the redemption cost is wherever we're "naturally" traveling. And when traveling by road in certain parts of the USA (away from the biggest cities and away from the biggest resort areas), redemption cost has actually dropped.
And of course HI and HGI in some locations that are not on the tourist tracks are actually coming down at point level, though I also see a HI at DC went from 35K to an insane 60K level.
All in all, if this card remains as it is now, it may still be worthwhile to some folks who do have natural needs for hotel stays in places that are out of the big cities.

Gave this card a shot with my app, got shot down, called reconsideration, they said everything looks good except that i have too many inquiries within 6 months. Due to this they weren't able to overturn the decision.
Mentioned possibly splitting credit lines as I wasn't necessarily looking for more credit, but wouldn't do anything there. Any other suggestions?
