Looking to Switch

I currently have the Citi Mastercard and AMEX and tired of all the American Airlines high price, blackout dates, etc etc.

Can anyone give recommendations CC that will help earn miles on any carrier....

transfers to many airlines and for many of them 20k points => 25k miles.

but here i am assuming you want miles.
what do you want the card to do?

then i would say either the starwood amex or some species membership rewards amex.
they have different airline lists.

I think chase also has one that can push to either BA or Continental (for now).

if you don't have a particular airline in mind, then the penfed travel rewards card might be a good idea.

Make sure you understand the difference between blackout dates which American Airlines does not have, and capacity controls which all airline frequent flyer programs use.

...miles for any carrier...
Do you mean points which can be transferred into the frequent flyer programs of many different airlines and redeemed subject to to the restrictions of each program -or- do you mean a program which will buy you a ticket on any airline? There is no program that will guarantee a ticket on any flight you choose for a fixed a number of miles or points.

There are several programs which generate points that can be used to buy airfare. The amount of spending required to earn a flight will depend on the price of the ticket at the time you redeem. Similar programs award cash which you could, of course, use to purchase a ticket.

Here are some threads which discuss points (or cash back) programs that you may wish to consider:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other...e-rewards.html

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other...lity-amex.html

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other...astercard.html

Note that the Travelocity Mastercard mentioned at the outset of this thread has been replaced by a Travelocity American Express, and the rewards program offered to new applicants is not as lucrative as the original version.

Just be aware that the Starwood Amex has a terrible exchange rate into Continental Onepass and does not participate with United.

The transfer ratio from Starwood to both CO and UA is exactly the same poor 2:1 :

However, it sounds as if ramz003 is not interested redeeming through any frequent flyer program.

It may still be worth looking at SPG Flights the program, which is described here:

You amaze me. If you are unhappy with award availability on AA, you will likely be miserable with DL. Start reading here:
