I can attest to that. Being currently in college I see at least 2 Che t-shirts everyday, and I was at a fairly moderate college in respect to political views. This fall I'm transferring to a different University which is the #1 Conservative University as rated by the Princeton Review, so I'm expecting to see less of those Che shirts but who knows.

You said: "Please explain just how buying a service member a beverage equates with support of "USA's politics" or or giving the "US military" a pass on its performance?"
I.e. you are suggesting that this is not a political statement. Correct?
It happens with both, unfortunately.
That's hooey for someone who isn't from this country. @:-) CO is an international airline, it isn't the post office.
I don't fly CO much because I find them to be a lousy airline, but this is widespread among a lot of airlines. And it should stop.

Patriotism <> politics. One can certainly be a patriot while abhorring the politics of one's country. In fact, that is the definition of a patriot. Now, to squash the next argument, I am not saying the US is always right (not even close), but support for one's troops is NOT the same thing as jingoistic propaganda.

this is a fecklessly inane comparison.
I work for NATO part time, and have full time in the past. The US does not "equal" NATO. If you think that you are not-educated in the way of the alliance. I would be glad to suggest some reading for you to learn about how it works.

I think both are nonsense, IMHO. I don't think CO needs to be making any announcements or providing special privileges for a certain class of passengers, regardless of what they do for a living.

CO is a US flag ship carrier that flies to international destinations. They also transport US troops as a charter airline.

People keep trotting out this "US flag ship" stuff. So what? The company is based in the U.S. but it is an international company. It carriers international passengers. And some of those international passengers don't care for our politics or our military for a variety of very good reasons.

really? because that's what all airlines do with their "elites" every day.

What are Elites or 1K's? Aren't they provided with special privileges for certain class of passengers?

Heh. Let me be a bit more specific: They should not be privileging a certain class of passengers because they "put their life on the line" (a reason given in this thread) or "serve in the military" (another reason given in this thread).
